yes a v8 bell housing for a standard transmission can be bolted to a slant 6 transmission its the automatics that have no interchange whatsoever

good luck with the budget deal, maybe you'll get lucky and find one on craigslist. other then that theres lots of modifications to be made to put a t-5 in and most truck 4 speed's has granny gears meaning it would be great if you needed to haul 100 bales of hay on a trailer but not so good in a car

most all engines have harmonic balancers on them they prevent viberation when each cylinder fires, the 273,318 and 340 are interally balanced I belive and they use one type of balancer.360's are externally balanced on the torque converter or flywheel and they use a different harmonic balancer...

x2 slant bell housing wont fit a v8, if you were talking v6 it would be different
