So, $500. Deal, steal or pass on the tranny? I've got a 69 Swinger, but I just had the tranny totally rebuilt. So, I don't really have a need for this. Your honest opinion appreciated.

OK Great. So....any idea what years and makes this A833 would and would not fit? I'm just trying to figure out if I will ever use this thing. It's freshly rebuilt and I can have for $500.....but I guess I don't need a $500 paper weight. Any thoughts on this?

I did not tackle the project myself. What I did is hire a local "mopar guru" to put it back to stock. It now shifts like it should, and does what it's told. Having the benefit of knowing the original owner of the car is a good thing. This car was set for straight up drag racing in the 70's...

Here are some pictures of the 833 parts that I have available. The only wear I see is on the speedo connector. The threads are stripped on that. Let me know what else you need, or if you have an offer. Sorry, I have no idea what they are worth. Again....these worked fine....but I'm told...

Are you seriously interested in the old tranny parts from my 833? I know what I have into the new ones.....Yikes! I kept an entire box of the old "crash box" stuff. No idea what it's worth.

Mystery solved. The tranny was overhauled 40 years ago for pure drag racing. What's in it now is called a "crash box". I'm no expert, but gears have been modified and parts have been removed for this car to jam shift period. When you slam it, she goes. However, plain old cruising is a SOB...

That's great advice. I put the car on jack stands last night. I'm going to pull the tranny today. It's grinding up upshifts, and occasionally gives me fits when down shifting. Anybody know a tranny guy in Wisconsin?
