    HEI conversion benefits

I'm using the tan Mopar cap. I bought the bracket that fits under the distributor, along with the bracket that mounts the coil to the intake manifold.

    HEI conversion benefits

I don't believe I would have room for that. Looks like a hybrid between a Mopar distributor and a GM distributor cap.

    HEI conversion benefits

Well, it's always been a hassle for me to get it right. It was just a thought.

    HEI conversion benefits

That looks like my setup. Does it allow for doing away with the vacuum advance?

    HEI conversion benefits

I've not only covered the spade connectors with heat shrink tubing, but the wiring from the distributor to the coil and the wires to the module have been covered with plastic conduit.

    HEI conversion benefits

Why is the 8 pin module be better than the 4 pin one? I used shrink tubing on the spade connectors when I installed the module. Maybe not the best weatherproofing, but better than nothing.

    HEI conversion benefits

So, what RPM's could I expect from a GM standard module?

    Radio antenna

Thanks. I was intending to run a ground wire for the antenna. My concern was if the fender being fiberglass would somehow effect the radio reception.

    HEI conversion benefits

    That's a good tip, thanks!

    Radio antenna

Where would you suggest I move it? The hood is metal, but the fenders are the fiberglass I'm concerned about.

    HEI conversion benefits

Maybe I incorrectly called it dielectric grease. It was a white in color compound that came with the HEI module.

    HEI conversion benefits

Thanks. I put plenty of dielectric grease between the module and the heat sink. So, did you leave the ballast resistor in place with a piece of wire inside? I've seen others do that.

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

Thanks. I found wiring diagrams for the vehicle in question. I was wrong about it, though. After double checking, it's for a 72-74 B-body. But it's also listed for a Challenger, so I'm kinda confused as to which one applies.

    HEI conversion benefits

That's a good price for the coil. The one I have was on closeout from Summit. I got the HEI module and the coil there. The HEI module is "allegedly" a high performance module, so not limited to in RPM's. Everything is mounted and wired up, at least as far as the engine is concerned. I haven't...

    HEI conversion benefits

Yeah, keeping my Mopar Performance distributor. I'm using a Mallory e-coil, and I have the adapter for the HEI module that attaches to the distributor. The engine is out of the car, so I can't say how well it will run. Now I'm curious about how to clean up the wiring harness to remove the wiring...

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

That's a good piece of advice. Is there somewhere that I can find a wiring diagram that's color coded for a Challenger?

    HEI conversion benefits

I have tried to research this topic both here and on the Internet, but I haven't found anything that will answer my question. Once this conversion is done, can the ECU and the ballast resistor be removed? I know there's purists here who would say I am blasphemous for contaminating a Mopar with...

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

Well that's the same part number I have, so I guess it'll work?
  19. 7

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

Well, I was incorrect. I only have a 2 speed and a 3 speed switch. Now another question. I have a Chrysler interchange book. The part number for the variable speed switch (apparently no 3 speed option that year) is not the same part number as the one I have. According to the interchange book...

    Radio antenna

I have tried to research this. Apparently the fiberglass hood somehow created some sort of interference with the radio. Since my Duster has fiberglass fenders, and the radio didn't work when I bought the car, I want to be reasonably sure that the fiberglass fenders won't interfere with the radio...

    Radio antenna

Well, this isn't necessarily Barracuda specific information I'm requesting. I'm just wondering why (according to the factory) that a fiberglass hood would cause a radio to not function properly. If they felt the need to move the antenna to the rear, it must have been causing a reception issue.

    Radio antenna

There's already a hole in the fender on the passenger side front from the antenna that the previous owner had installed. So, why did they move the antenna to the rear passenger quarter panel on an AAR Cuda if grounding wasn't the issue. I understand that the fender was metal, but the hood was...

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

Oh, gotcha. I believe I have both kinds of switches, but I think I would lean more towards the variable speed. Unfortunately, I've not seen what either one looks like during operation, so I can only guess how they would appear.

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

Thanks. But the wiring diagram you sent is for a 2 speed system.

    Radio antenna

My Duster was purchased from the other owner with fiberglass fenders. It had an in-dash radio/cassette player which never worked. Knowing that the AAR Cuda and Challenger T/A came with fiberglass hoods and the antenna was relocated to the rear quarter panel, is this what I need to do to get a...

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

What do I need to do to modify the connector?

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

So what makes the variable speed and the 3 speed wipers is the switch? I have several switches, and the 3 speed motor.
  28. 7

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

So then, how did the 3 speed wipers work? Was it actually a very slow swipe on the first setting, and increasing in speed with the next 2 levels?

Variable speed vs. 3 speed wipers

    That's what I was wondering.
