    Optima battery??..

I ran the same red top for 10 years. When it got tired I replaced it with a Odyssey 25-PC1400T - also an AGM. It's definitely got more meat on its bones.

    MSD or not

I have a new Digital Programmable 6AL system. Works really nicely but I hope I have better luck with it than y'all. (I usually have worse luck though than most sooo.) Never had any issues with stock including FBO's module.

    Underdash Harness Help

I’m not spotting the black bullet connector with yellow wires right off hand. Seem to recall this one not being connected either but could be wrong. Probably related to accessory lighting though. Edit: FWIW, I’m going with map and ignition lamp connector. (My Mopar 70 Dart and Challenger Full...

    Underdash Harness Help

Gray connector with brown, black, yellow combo would have plugged into a headlamp on buzzer diode. Probably also not used. These last three from this diagram: http://www.70duster440.com/DashHarness70%20Page%201.PDF

    Underdash Harness Help

I believe black connector with all the yellow wires goes to ‘Accessories Lamp wiring’. Would have gone to something like a map light switch. While it was in your harness it’s possible it was never connected to anything.

    Duster front outside maker lights

Check your dash harness for the for an angled plug with black and red wires - beneath or to the right of your radio. The dash frame may have a clip that the flasher body snaps into.

    Duster front outside maker lights

There should be one or more ring terminals on black wires in that front lighting harness near each front turn signal where the harness runs along the core support. Those are your ground wires for the headlights and markers. They need a clean connection to the core support. (And your battery...

    1970 duster wiring

I believe you’re right on the light green wires to the bullet connector. It connected to a delay relay - also not used. At least it wasn’t on my ‘70. You’ll notice reference to the map light accessory in this drawing too.

    1970 duster wiring

Bill, Remember that connectors found under the dash may be unused - they may never have been connected to anything for accessories your car did not come with. Like I said, I believe the black connector was for a map light and switch. Some earlier Valiants had map lights on the dash. (‘70 Dusters...

    1970 duster wiring

Top connector provides power and lights to the radio. Orange is always instrument lighting. Looks like someone removed wiring from one side of the connector. Black angled plug with yellow wires for a dash mounted map light light/switch. Probably never had one so the connector is unused. I'm...

    Steering column rebuild help

Not the thread you're looking for but I have some text/photos on my old build site that might (or not) be helpful. (It's not mobile friendly (best viewed on desktop) but I can provide a link privately to a new version of the site under construction that is, if you like).

Brake and blinkers not working 70 dart

Hmm, I've never actually tried the test procedure outlined by Mopar Action in the article. But the color codes at the connector seem to match my wiring diagram. Where did they go wrong?

    installing ignition switch

Assuming you have the turn signal switch out of the column, there are three phillip head screws to remove plus a snap ring on the shaft. The upper bearing is just below the snap ring. Once those are removed the upper section can slide off the shaft. However, it is a slight press fit (bearing is...

    Wire harness...Clean or New?

Can't speak for their harnesses but I have purchased hard to find harness parts (bulkhead connectors, fusible link) from Evans. Looked top notch and original to me. EvansWiring.com : Product Catalog I won't discount the value of replacing the harness but if it's in good shape (not hacked, not...

Help with column mounted ignition lock.

You should be able to look in the opening on your column and see the small hole. Shouldn't need to take anything apart - unless someone broke it inside.

Help with column mounted ignition lock.

Like your photo, that would be the middle of 3 sections. The top section of the column has to be pulled/removed to gain full access to it. What's the story on your lock cylinder - was it missing? Scroll down this page: 1971 dart replacing igniton need help!! Read the section on Lock Housing...

Under hood wiring when going from slant 6 to Mopar Performance Shop

No problem - good luck. FWIW, if you don't want to upgrade to the later regulator and wiring, you could just install the earlier alternator and regulator. I think the upgrade would be worthwhile.
