correct me if im wrong but i think later on in the 70s you could get the 318 with a factory 4bbl. you should look into getting one of those if they even exist.

I had a similar problem with a dart one time and it turned out to be a fuel problem because the car was originaly a /6car and it had the small fuel line so the fuel pump couldn't keep up with the carb at higher Rpms.
