If its blows colder with less air flowing from your motor then your core might be clogged. I had the opposite happen with a heater core years ago. With the fan on the lowest speed the air would be hot but as it moved more air it god cooler and cooler. Took out the core and it was plugged up...

I dont know if this will help or not but I'll say it anyway. For every 1 psi that is applied to the coolant system, the boiling point of the liquid will increase 3 degrees. So, If the boiling point of water under no pressure is 212 degrees, using a 10 psi cap would increase this by 30 degrees...

Yeah, get rid of that flex fan. I think those things are too damn flimsy to move ebough air.
