    Hi beam switch

I used one from Rock Auto, it's been working fine for 7 or 8 years now.

Does the starter relay 12v battery post need 12v?

The previous owner sure didn't follow the wiring diagram the harness came with. I used a Painless harness on mine as well, and it was pretty painless, but I don't mind doing wiring. Thats a different kit part number than I used, but there should be a wire from the alternator to the fuse...

That works for a 440 as well right?

    Re-Wiring 1975 Plymouth Duster

That's what I did. I went with a Painless Wiring 10102 kit. It was pretty straightforward, although the ignition circuit was a little confusing. My car is bare bones though, lights, turn signals and a radio, nothing else to wire, so it might have been a little easier than most. The kit...

    Car audio guy here....

I put Kilmat in mine a few winters ago. I had the interior out anyway, I ended up buying a box of it big enough to coat everything. I started on the firewall where it met the dash and went all the way to the back window. Overkill for sure, but I wanted it to block heat as well. The...

Anyone wired a self latching or other type of anti-theft kill switch ?

This is the fob setup that I have. I haven't installed it yet, but my buddy has been using it for years and has had no issues.

Ignition switch power interruption from run to start

When I went to EFI on mine, I eliminated the ballast resistor and tied the IGN 1 and IGN 2 wires (blue and green maybe, I can't remember?) together where the connector comes out of the column. I've been running it this way for 7 years with no issues, nothing is getting back fed while it is...

    Battery in Trunk

I used the remote starter relay kit from Painless and mounted it in my trunk. I didn't need any other relays or solenoids. It just needs a +12v signal to it to activate when you turn the key.

Using Aftermarket Fuel Gauge with Original Sender

I am using an Autometer fuel level gauge, I 'think' it is 73 ohms empty 10 ohms full, but don't quote me on that.

Painless wiring with Factory Mopar Collumn?

I bought mine from Terminal Supply Co, they had all the pins, so let's and connector bodies to rewire the whole car, except the steering column one. I had to reuse the beat up factory connector, but put new pins in it.

    LED replacement bulbs

I just looked them up, they have at least doubled in price since I bought them 5 or 6 years ago.

    LED replacement bulbs

I converted everything to led 5 or 6 years ago, I used the philips xtreme vision led series for as much as I could and everything is working great. You need to get an led bulb that is the same color as the lense it goes behind for it to light up evenly.

    Speedo a no go.

I’ve had good luck on eBay for Speedo cables. They aren’t as heat resistant as the original one, have to make sure it’s not close to the exhaust, but they work great. The seller is belair2door.

    Speedo a no go.

Make sure you don't have any tight bends in the speedo cable. If it's not coming straight out of speedometer it could cause it to slightly bind and cause your issue.

Trunk Mount Battery - Wire Routing

Yep, that's the benefit of it and the reason I made the switch.

Trunk Mount Battery - Wire Routing

I have relays for my fuel pump and my headlights, which I would recommend Crackedbacks harness for. Everything else is just off the fuse box.

Trunk Mount Battery - Wire Routing

I agree, the alternator provides the power and the battery is like a buffer. I had everything wired in to the stud on the starter relay, I was using that as my power distribution block. I have some bad ignition interference on the radio when the ignition is on, and I am in the process of...

    Intellitronix A-body Dash Install Thread

That looks awesome, I wish this was an option when I did mine with all Autometer, I like your setup better and it’s like 1/2 the price of using Autometer.

Trunk Mount Battery - Wire Routing

I’m in process of rewiring now. I have the Ford relay in the trunk, but I have eliminated the factory relay under the hood. My NSS is part of my shifter, so I ran the ignition switch trigger wire to the switch on the shifter, then back to the Ford relay. I’m running a Painless fuse box, my...

Having Trouble Finding Correct Cluster Sockets...

I've always had good luck with Terminal Supply Company, luckily its local to me in Michigan, but I believe they have an oine catalog and ship. Had every connector I needed when I rewired my car using a generic harness. Edit: added link http://terminalsupplyco.com/

    Headlight Switch

If you are going to use a toggle switch to control them. Get ahold of Crackedback, and order one of his headlight relay harnesses. I bet if you were to tell him your plans, he would customize the length of the wire needed for your application. Top notch product he has.

    Plug boots Burning TTI Headers

I've tried a few things, but so far what seems to be working is a combination of the MSD High Temp Racing boots along with the MSD Boot Guards. I have a boot that rest on the primary pipe, so it sees a LOT of heat. MSD Ignition 3327 MSD Professional Racing Spark Plug Wire Boot and Terminal...

How many amps dose a mini starter draw?

I plan on redoing the electrical portion of my starting system this winter. Instead of going with a fused lead from the battery to the starter, I plan on running a Ford style starter relay mounted next to my battery in the trunk. It'll leave that wire to the starter electrically dead, except...

    JC Penney Lifetime battery.

I'm on year 12 of an Optima, I'm waiting for it to need a replacement soon. Too bad they don't still offer warranties like this. Advanced Auto gave me a 2 year warranty on wiper blades. He said just bring them in and say they leave streaks and I'll get a free set. It's only good 1 time, but...

Replacement Headlight Switch to Dim LED Guages

Replacement Headlight Switch to Dim LED Guages

I knew I could add resistors to increase the load, but the point of going LED was to reduce the load, every other bulb in the car, including headlights are LED. Autometer sells their dimmer for LED, but I don't want an add on box. I figured some newer cars headlight switch may be able to...

Replacement Headlight Switch to Dim LED Guages

I couldn't really find anything that specifically said it could, but I am looking for a replacement headlight switch that is also able to dim aftermarket guages with LED lights in them. The factory switch obviously doesn't have that low of resolution and it's either on or off, but getting them...
