    Are you sure all the air is out of the engine. Had the same thing till I got all the air locks out of the engine and coolant top right up. Just a thought

    "Dumb *** mechanic" (oh guess that was me) didn't notice the middle head bolt was stretched. Heads check out A-OK. Oh well live and learn, back on the road again.:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:

    Grumps - it was blowing white smoke out of the exhaust. Got the heads off today, One spot on the drivers side between the centre two cylinders may be a problem, but may have caught it before too much damage. Going to take the heads in to get checked out.

    Eric, have you used the permatex, thread fixer? I read the info and it said the surfaces had to be clean which would be hard to do with the motor still in the car, so I just wondering how it worked?

    I have the same coolant leak on the passenger side. I did use sealant, but I still have a leak. The stud is bigger than standard and it seams the threads are not that good and I can't tighten the header up. What is the best fix for this with motor still in car if possible? Thanks for your input

    Dipstick Install

    Problem is where the new MP ones are welded for the stop. The bend needs to be close and as soon as I tried bending the welds were breaking. I too ground a taper to help it slide into the block easier.
