Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

What did you use to test the moisture in your brake fluid?

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Seems like that would serve the same purpose and provide an extra layer of safety. Thanks for providing the pictures of what's inside. Hope you get your problem solved.

Yes I did. Sorry about that. @Kern Dog

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

If you gut that valve and blow a line in the front or rear will it cause you to loose all braking power?

    Spindle bearing spacer

This product is surely not intended for a daily driver. In racing improvements are often fractional. Especially in classes with a lot of restrictions. How do you make 1 hp in a restricted engine? 1/10 of a hp at a time.

    Spindle bearing spacer

The bearings still have preload on them with the spacer when set up according to the instructions.

    Spindle bearing spacer

They had a display set up at PRI in Indy. If you gave it a spin i'm pretty sure an hour later it would still be spinning. If 1200% is measured by comparing the number of revolutions I can believe it. How many places behind the decimal is that in hp or MPG? I don't know but I would guess a lot...

    Spindle bearing spacer

That is true the hub acts as a spacer but it doesn't space the inner races in the same way. It would be like installing the pinion bearings with out the spacer or crush sleeve and using a nut with a cotter pin to set preload. I haven't ever done that to a rear end but something tells me it won't...

    Spindle bearing spacer

Another example of where I see this type arrangement with a spacer between two tapered bearings is on the pinion of a rear end. I'm not sure how it relates but they must use that arrangement there for a reason.

    Spindle bearing spacer

" More than a centery" Dang, I guess not. Longevity is not the only factor considered when we hang parts on race cars. And it's still roller bearings. They didn't re-invent the wheel here. It's just a spacer between the inner bearing races that seems to have less drag according to my not so...

    Spindle bearing spacer

You don't need a diploma in engineering hanging on the wall to improve a product or idea. But it doesn't hurt if you do. People have been trying to improve the area between axle and wheel since the wheel was invented. As a side note, I don't believe the person who invented the wheel had an...

    Spindle bearing spacer

I have them on my stock car. Allstar also makes them. I have only seen them available for the G body metric and the pinto as far as stock style spindles. I don't know how the dimensions of either the metric or pinto compare to the a body spindles to know if they would fit or could be modified to...

How much advantage in adding rear disk brakes?

I see. So drums are probably an advantage on tracks where you don't use your brakes as much.

How much advantage in adding rear disk brakes?

Interesting. I guess the guys around here need to " get with the times".

How much advantage in adding rear disk brakes?

Can't speak for where you are but around here the only dirt track guys using drums are in entry level classes where the rules require it.

    7 1/4 to 8 3/4 brake swap

I don't claim to have this all figured out but I think your backing plate and drum need to match your axle bearing to flange (where the wheel bolts up) offset. I think the offset is narrower on the small bolt pattern(4") and wider on the big bolt pattern (4.5"). You can buy aftermarket big bolt...
