360 sb. 2bbl iron intake or 4bbl iron intake with 4bbl to 2bbl flat plate adapter, which flows the best? thank you for your time. RR

It's been a while since I did that testing. We have to run a holley 4412 so the testing was done with a couple of different 2 to 4 bbl adapters and a couple different 4412's. If I recall correctly the power was similar with the 8022 making slightly more. But on my motor the ede. had better fuel...

The intake is on the motor. I might have another one that's off. I'll look tomorrow. If nothing else should be able to get a measurement off the one on the motor.

360 sb. 2bbl iron intake or 4bbl iron intake with 4bbl to 2bbl flat plate adapter, which flows the best? thank you for your time. RR

The Edelbrock is shorter than the weiand. I think pretty close to the stock manifold and much lighter.

Why wouldn't you want to use one of the aftermarket aluminum intakes that are allowed? . INTAKE: Must use unaltered aftermarket aluminum intake. Allowed intakes are Weiand GM #7547, #7547-1; Ford #7515, #8023 or #7516; Chrysler #8022; Edelbrock GM #2701; Ford #7121, #7181, #7183; Chrysler...

    Gets hot and stalls out

Not sure what that is. Here is a wiring diagram. the thin red ignition wire needs to be connected to 12v source that has power when cranking and in the run position and no power in the off position. heve an assistant help you check voltage at the thin red wire. Google Image Result for...

    Gets hot and stalls out

In post 1 you mention you have a msd 6a. Is the thin red wire for the ignition wired to a switched 12volt source and not through the ballast resistor? I had a customer bring a vehicle to me with a hot soak no start issue that had been going on for a couple years. Car would start fine cold, he...

Who has had good experiences with the Brawler series of carburetors?

Might just be lucky but I have had decent results with them. I just put one on a 340 for a customer and it made the same power on the dyno as my holley hp ultra. There are different versions of the brawler (Quick fuel owned by holley) series of carbs just like the holleys. This is just my...

    throttle linkage cable Q

You will have your work cut out for you trying to get lighter than a chevy. My 360 mopar motor was heavier than my 350 chevy. I don't see any way around that and still be legal. I don't think a 904 would be lighter than a powerglide but I havent weighed a 904 with a converter to compare. Have...

What will cause my float bowls to go dry

Here is a picture of a 4150 bowl. The float is removed to make the needle and seat easier to see. The black line across the bowl represents the fuel level. The arrow represents the opening at the needle and seat. The air gap between the fuel level and the opening at the needle and seat is where...

What will cause my float bowls to go dry

Just to be clear we are talking about fuel in the bowl Draining back into the tank on a 4150 holley. Correct?

Are you saying now that it is not possible for fuel from the bowl to leak back to the tank?

    Disappointing dyno results

Did the dyno have O2 sensers on it at any time? Do you have pictures of the motor on the dyno?

    Disappointing dyno results

I'm not sure what your saying here. Can you describe in detail what was happening with the throttle?

    Disappointing dyno results

The shape of the curve in post 145 page 6 is not the shape I would expect to see for a correctly running engine. Check and verify the basics as many have pointed out. Use known good parts to substitute parts that are on the engine now to eliminate some possibilities. As a dyno operator some...

    Street Demon tuning experience

It's hard to see in the photo but this is a harmonic balancer I just pulled off a motor I was dynoing day before yesterday and it was slipping. If you look closely you can see where it it delaminated. It was so bad you could see it move 10 degrees each direction while Idling. This was the...

    Street Demon tuning experience

Here are a few tips. Remove all the spark plugs so you don't have to turn against the compression of other cylinders with your breaker bar. This is not true for all motors/cylinder heads but with a stock headed small block mopar you should not have to remove the rockers to prevent the valve...

    Eddy 1405 tuning advice

Don't do any full throttle testing yet. Unless you know your full throttle max rpm timing and full throttle jetting are in a safe place.

    Edelbrock springs 1406 and 1405

Have you considered an o2 gauge? I think it will speed up the process of tuning the carbs. It will help determine when it's lean or rich. As in idle , part throttle or wide open throttle. After some practice you will notice other clues such as how the engine sounds or feels that will tell you if...

Question for the head porting experts.

I think the trumpet shape your referring to is for the first piece in the system on the end that sees the air first. The entrance. Like a velocity stack on fuel injection. The bell on the end is to provide a radiused inlet as opposed to a sharp edge inlet which creates turbulence. Air likes...

    A/F/R gauge for tuning

I'm might not be thinking correctly but here is how I see it. For this example there is no reversion. Air (oxygen) and fuel are drawn into the cylinder as a rich mixture. Enough to cause a misfire. During this cycle what would be left over is unburned fuel and oxygen. Of the two the o2 sensor...

    A/F/R gauge for tuning

I'm not going to say that is impossible but I think with the information provided that conclusion could be a bit of a leap. Unless you have more data to support that conclusion that wasn't in the post. How was it determined that the motor was lean to begin with? On the first carb did they try...

    A/F/R gauge for tuning

Not exactly ABA testing going on there. Might be hard to sort out what caused what. Are you saying that overlap caused the o2 sensor th read rich?
