If you are looking for bolt on upgrades, the super six option would be your best option. Outside of that, the heads need to be port and polished to get the best flow to take advantage of the 4 barrel upgrade, as well as better exhaust. I do recommend converting to electronic ignition as well.

You might want want to check to see is the vacuum advance is blown. Take off the vacuum hose at the carb and suck, if the vacuum does not hold it's bad.

When you rebuilt the carb, did you run your finger in the accelerator pump hole to see if it had any ridges. I had to "ream" mine out once with my finger and a piece of 220 grit to get the little ridges out before. It does sound like an accelorator issue to me as well.

I assume you are using the modified factory rear 3 banks dutra with the Dutra casting front 3 banks. If you do not plan on driving in the colder months in TN, use the block off. If you plan on driving all year long I recommend not installing to help warm uip the engine for better drivability...

Me personally, I would try to match LOOK of the gauges. The background color, the needle color, the number or image style. I would look for a good brand as well. Which ever brand fit the style the best is the way I would go, or period correct IE vintage gauges.

On slantsix.org one of the guys has been working in a ford 300 EFI set up. the 96 300's had sequential injectors and the computer was able to self regulate for different cams. I don't remember which post, it been a while ago. I do always look for 96 fords with a 300 ever since.
