Pictures, would help immensely, so would the specs,on the new 360. Did you buy,the matching temperature sending unit,for the actual gauge ? My advice,pick up a cheap sealed capillary temp gauge,for actual verification.(Actron /Sun,20 new/ older gauge.). I would,start there.

Same here,works great on a stock style brass radiator as well. I used the transmission cooler mount ties. Slick....

Another tidbit: Every extra lb on the read cap,the cooling system can handle= roughly works to three degrees lower on the temp gauge. There's a reason why cars run difference in rad cap ratings.

I sell parts for a living. The current overseas supplied t stats,don't even touch the quality of a actual Stant stat from ten years ago. I warrantied,so many the last 3 or so years.My recommended: Mr Gasket,or a Robert Shaw 180 "fail safe " stat. If it fails ,it fails with an opening.

Done the 408 gig before.B.N.Stock water pump,eddy heads,& 9:8 to 1 actual compression. Stock 3 core read& water pump cooled it perfectly. (With twin cooling fans/o.e. ford contour fan assembly.). How about some pictures,when you get a chance?
