Could be the water pump, alternator, don't know until you investigate. If you have a stick, think a piece of broomstick, that you can put one end on the alternator and the other right up against your ear, that will tell you in short order.

Take your belt/belts off and run it for a minute just for grins. That will eliminate anything in the front. I could be crazy, but it sounds like something rotational to me, judging by the squeal. Maybe it's just me, but it seemed to get a bit louder as you moved the camera from the rear...

Certainly you can. Your first post was a bit misleading, I thought you were trying to change over to manual, lol.

You would need to change the steering box itself to get manual steering. Remove the box, pump etc and install a manual box and pitman arm. Then you would need an adapter for your column to work, or a different column, at the very least swap the shaft.

Steve, if you aren't planning any crazy updates and intend to run it the way it is after you get the cam etc, I would call PTC and tell them exactly what you have. They will want to know everything, car weight, engine combo, gearing, usage etc. Then let them build you a converter to work...
