Because you have no tension on your bars, when you put drop spindles in, you can preload the bars, and it will not bottom out so easily any more. Thus same ride height, just a little more firm.

Last time I checked, when I was at wheel lock I really didnt care if the ackerman was off, LOL I was doing three mph. If it really bothers you though, firm feel makes a longer idler arm now too.
