318 convertors are neutral balanced because the 318 itself is INTERNALLY balanced. I did however have to have weights put on mine because of a vibration problem. If the 318 is properly built and balanced then your TQ is supposed to be Neutral (not heavier at any given point).

Take it from me and look at my threads. Balance the motor at all costs or you "may" regret it. Whatever it takes!

I rebuilt my 318 stock with a slightly modified motorhome cam shaft (longer travel). I want to keep the 2 barrel carb. I had the stock one rebuilt but it performs crappy. Misses and floods. Does anyone have experience with the holley 2 barrel for this motor?

I just had a 318 built and had a motorhome cam upgrade. A longer carry for bottom end power and it works well. Needs no adjustment or special add ons and supplys quiet a bit more power.
