The o/d trans has a larger front bearing retainer than a non-o/d trans. The o/d bellhousing has a corresponding larger hole.

Nice write up on your installation process. Looks like you have an aluminum 3 speed overdrive.

This is the handle without a console.

I would use an a-body trans with an early b-body bellhousing to fit in the tunnel.

I like the stock handle. If you want shorter throws, cut down the shifter tabs on the trans side and weld them back together.

Are you sure that's not an OD? Looks like the reverse tab is flipped upsidedown which is a telltale sign of an OD trans. Those other two main cases are aluminum too, which are OD.

The number is located at the base of the handle where it bolts to the mechanism. Check out the crappy pic below.

Do you know what the number is on the Inland handle? I have one that is 44532 out of a 66 Barracuda with no console.

The 66 humps are pretty hard to find. Here are a couple pics of one that I found. I don't see the harm in a fiberglass reproduction. At least the carpet will fit correctly.
