Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

Yes, you had inadvertently fallen into my Slackers ultimate black hole! It is a time warp that not many have returned from! Hmmm…maybe I better read my posts to see where I left off on the Cuda.

Another Mopar Off My Bucket List - Barracuda Fastback

Lol John, well…um, um, it’s actually all your fault that my cuda is often a shelf for empty Amazon boxes before recycle barrel day pickup! If I had an overachiever example like you to follow it would have been done long ago!! After reading your completed “to do” list, I think you may have...

Another Mopar Off My Bucket List - Barracuda Fastback

Hey John! I too have been on hiatus for several years, been lurking a bit, but not posting, but when I got the notification email that you posted something I had to check it out! Really great to hear you woke up on the right side of the grass! My Cuda is still in the garage, just lost steam...

Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

Please, I am trying to maintain my recommended daily allowance of slack hours! Those FABO alerts that came up in the corner of the web page are just the type of thing that could ruin my ability to slack! Thanks for the jab guys, probably need a little push to get going on the car again. Scott

Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

Hey Steve! I believe if you split the calipers before removing the pistons, and you use an air or grease pressure removal method, you would have to put a plug in the crossover hole on the one side to be able to hold pressure to remove the pistons. The other side would not make a difference...

    69 Notch Barracuda - Rebirth

You are on a roll this week, making me feel guilty with all that work! Glad to see your brake rebuilds all held, got my rebuilt calipers sitting on the shelf with my fingers crossed as they haven’t been tested yet.

Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

Thanks JAndrea! I have fallen off the wagon a bit with some family and other committments but every time I walk in the garage it keeps calling me! Now thats its a 100 degreees out there I can work on my car in a dry sauna at no extra costs! Glad to see the progress you are making, and I think...

That snap sound seems very familiar:eek: . I will ask permission for a go back to change my story - I actually was fighting Lithuanian terrorists when it occurred. Or was it while clubbing baby seals? Anyway, take care of yourself John - you got a garage full of Mopars to fix!

Another Mopar Off My Bucket List - Barracuda Fastback

I must have missed your previous report of cracked ribs, what the heck did you do? I think I may cracked a rib many years ago working underneath the car trying to use my chest as leverage for removing a stubborn bolt. I never got it checked out, but I remember it being painful for quite some...

Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

Thanks 440jimr, I do need some nudging, but probably not gentle! I know you are not going to believe this but surprisingly little has been accomplished lol! I have several reasonable real excuses plus a few more that I could make up that sound better than the real ones! But two weeks ago I...

That motor sure looks clean inside (and outside), how many miles were on it? I am not an expert on flywheels but think Summit carries a few models for the 6.1

    1967 Cuda FB project

Understand totally, mine has resorted to nagging me everytime I walk in the garage to get something out of the garage fridge. Either I need to start working on it or move my refridgerator! Weather is finally starting to get nice, so just maybe.....

Another Mopar Off My Bucket List - Barracuda Fastback

That will be interesting to hear the difference. I ran into a young guy in the parking lot at Sherwin Williams with a SRT with a Borla system. We struck up a conversation about Mopars (he knew nothing about any except the new generation stuff) and he started his car for me and revved it a few...

Another Mopar Off My Bucket List - Barracuda Fastback

Sorry about your funny car John, hope your are seeing the end in sight on the yard cleanup. I think most 2 cycle engines are possessed - they work great one day and the following day its a what the heck moment as blisters form on your fingers as you think just one more pull....

Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

I think I will title this post "Better keep my day job!" Last Wednesday I took a 2 hour training session from a local welder who has his own metal fab shop. He has done some work for me in the past and does a really nice job and is pretty reasonable. But... I always wanted to learn to weld...

Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

Lol, hibernation is probably not too far from the truth although I have been "dinking!". Got several grandkids myself, and I did take them out for a voyage. Thanks for the tip pick. By the way guys, I think this will be my 500th post. Is there a FABO ceremony or anything? Graduation? Free...

Slacker's Guide to Fixing Up the 68 Notch

I thought I would start out this round of posts discussing a new handy tool I bought not too long ago at Home Depot. I consider this my post teaser to get you sucked in to reading the rest of my boring spiel about removing parts from my car! Anyway.... I was over there on a weekend and saw...

Geez John, you are using up a lot of bandwidth on FABO with all your work on the cars, not sure if the servers can take much more! In your spare time timorrow, can you drive to Phoenix to completely restore my cuda? Keep up the postings, very interesting to watch your progess.
