340 duster 4 speed clutch pedal?

I only ask cause I ran across this on FBBO forum. I cannot vouch for it one way or the other. Sounds weird to me. I would think both pedals should be the same height. Pedal height

340 duster 4 speed clutch pedal?

I can't say I am that familiar with post 69 A bodies. But I do not believe the clutch pedal is adjustable. On the bumper and that's it. @AJ/FormS may know different. Have you considered your brake pedal is too low for whatever reason?

340 duster 4 speed clutch pedal?

Sure, they get banged out over the years and end up in a vacuum cleaner. : ) Pop that bumper into the slot. I would definitely check clutch pedal free play afterwards so as not to burn up the throwout bearing. You should have an inch or so of free play. Sounds like your clutch is already...

    4 speed ka-booom !

Hello weedburner, I'm not doing any homework here as for a rebuttal. It's all on my memory from some 10 yrs+ ago. But I'll say the following: As I recall, the technology behind a sintered iron clutch disc (the Soft Lok setup) is that it's gripping power increases with heat. Therefore less...

    4 speed ka-booom !

I'm one who has used the McLeod Soft Lok. Let's be clear. The centrifugal component is an optional attachment (in the form of centrifugal weight attachments) which comes with the setup for one who judges they need it to control slippage. I've never used it as I didn't need it for my setup. There...

    4 speed ka-booom !

Hi j par - Of course not. I simply wanted to relay my experience to you hoping it would help. Best of luck to you in your future racing. It is a blast racing a 4-speed. The first time I could leave the gas pedal on the floor the entire 1/4 mile was with the combo I outlined above. It was simply...

    4 speed ka-booom !

I agree with yellow rose on his recommendation for a Mcleod Soft Lok clutch setup -flywheel, sintered iron disc, and adjustable pressure plate. I struggled with 4-speed racing for quite some time, breaking this and that, missing shifts, etc... In the end I was having success using the Soft...
