I used a high quality 1/4" stripe.. in the corners I used a heat gun (on low ) to help mold the stripe, the heat gun helped the bend nice and flat. Also in the corner ( that is circled in picture) That's where I made my stripe joint , then used some black paint with little paint brush to fill...

Hi Steve.. I was thinking about clear coat (even had the can on table) but decided not to.. I am not sure if the 2 brands are compatible.. I wouldn't want to ruin them.. I might do a test piece of scrap metal with the paint then clear it after a few days to see if there is any reaction and see...

I was thinking of a light scuff with a scotch bright pad, but never did , just used the wax and grease remover ( paint prep) and shot the paint.. it went on real good .

I finished the other insert lastnight.. Pictures are not the best but they look great.. very happy with the turnout.

Hi Bob. Theses are the 3 paints I used My inserts where nice and shiny also, all as I did for prep was wide them down with wax and grease remover (paint prep) before painting.. I also had a heat gun to flash the paint after painting. I like to take the masking tape off 15 mins or so after...

Hi people . Just thought I'd share my discovery. It ends up my 68 barracuda's drivers side mirror (glass) is faded, so I took a mirror apart form a Polaris indy snowmachine (probably used on other models) and it fits perfect. So I glued it to the existing mirror.

My 68 GG1 .. I love it.. in the right conditions in the evening I can convince people its black lol..

I love it looks killer.. It would look good with dog dish caps...

So I gave the 1/4's, deck lid and roof a coat of NuFinish by hand .. very pleased with it. Now next is to wetsand top of doors, fenders, cowl and hood.. wish me luck.. Thanks

Thanks for the good advice.. for dampening the pad (before starting ) i mist pad with this blue "pad prep spray" not sure of product name off hand. Also should I apply wax (NUfinish liquid wax) by hand or with orbit polisher? Thanks.. Hope you had fun golfing.. luckey guy.

I am using this compound wizards finish cut with orange pad. Then went over it with Meguiars swirl remover 2.0 with white pad. Then apply wizards mist n shine ( spray wax) it might not be the correct method or product but it is sure working for me..

I am using a soft flexible block, for polishing using a random orbit polisher with orange and white pads. I do have a rotary polisher too but I feel more comfortable with the orbit polisher and results are what I'm looking for. Thanks

Thank you for the advice. I went ahead and did the rear of car, I left the deck lid because the painter painted the deck lid at a later time then the car, he must if spend more time wet sanding it because it's good.. I attached a few pics. I am very happy with results.. Thanks

Yes .. a little out of my budget.. thanks Al.. After finishing the roof I am extremely pleased with results, I think I might go ahead and do rest of the horizontal parts only of car (hood, top of fenders, doors rear 1/4's and deck lid) even tho the painter already wet sanded these...

That's good news.. The paint is PPG Omni. It's the only paint I could find that matched my original color GG1.. Car was painted 8 months ago Thanks
