    new TO bearing noise

Hey guys I just installed a new mcleod clutch kit plus new pilot and TO bearing. I just started the car (68 Cuda 383 ) and when I push in the clutch I get a little squeak but when the car warms up it goes away. Are these TO bearings greased from mcleod? Does anything have to break in? Any...

    pilot bushing question

I have NOT installed it yet because it has been bugging me, it doesn't make sense to remove a bronze bushing and install a iron based (steel) bushing. I am not a expert at what bushing to use so I will wait for a little more advice. This is not a job I want to do a third time.. thanks

    National moparts flywheel

Here is a picture of my flywheel after I had it resurfaced than put maybe 200 miles on the car ( with clutch chatter ). Is this what a recent resurfaced flywheel should look like? When I first picked it up from machine shop I thought it would of had a more smother surface like the face of the...

    National moparts flywheel

Yes.. and another thing is that the mcleod tech guy told me now that I have a "so called " new clutch disc I would need a new or freshly resurfaced flywheel to rebed the disc.

    National moparts flywheel

Good question.. I recently rebuild the engine ( stock 68 383) also installed new mcleod clutch kit and I also had my original flywheel resurfaced. When I put it all together I experienced severe clutch chatter only in first gear. I drove the cuda for 2 seasons the chatter stayed the same. I tore...

    National moparts flywheel

Just for the record.. I am not questioning the price, I relize the Canadian dollar is not the best these days, and I assume national moparts imports most of there product. I am questioning the quality of the flywheel...

    National moparts flywheel

Well I emailed national moparts "Nigel" asking if he knew who manufacturer of there flywheel was.. his response was " it is a Chinese white box piece, no idea who the manufacturer is" I don't like the sounds of that for 300+ $. Might look into having my old flywheel resurfaced. .

    shifter problem

Correct. I think shifting into reverse could be a little smother. But I can't compare it to another 4 speed. Maybe I will ask a 4 speed owner at cruise night to try there car lol....Thanks

    shifter problem

Well I got her opened up . Besides really grimy (hardened old grease ) only thing I found that looked like a problem was this "half "thin washer (first pic) and a stick bolt that was worn 35%" it's worse than it looks" (second pic) Can anyone pinpoint where this washer is from? BTW it is a...

    shifter problem

Yes... but I am pretty sure my reverse lever doesn't have the hole, so I lined it up by eye with the other 2 levers . Is that ok? Thanks
  24. Darren

    shifter problem

So I put both forward levers of the shifter in center or neutral (with shifter rods unhooked) and still shifter will not shift into reverse..
  25. Darren

    shifter problem

Ok thank you.. I will try that to see if my shifter will shift into reverse without rods connected..
  26. Darren

    shifter problem

Another thing that makes me think somthing let go on the shifter is it was working good. And all of a sudden it wouldn't shift over to reverse.

    shifter problem

Hey guys tonight my 68 Cuda 4 speed would not shift into reverse so I got under the car and I could shift it into reverse with the shifter rod. I went ahead and removed all 3 shift links off the shifter and still cannot shift into reverse on shifter (original Hurst). Should the shifter (with...
