Help me decide - Big or small bolt pattern?

I used the SSBC kit on my '71 Dart GT to keep the sbp. The car has a factory installed 741 case 8 3/4" rear end. At the time I did the SSBC swap it had factory 14" X 5 1/2" Rallye wheels which I was happy with. A few years later, I decided I wanted 14" X 5 1/2" sbp steel wheels. I found and...

    Leed disk brake conversion kit

Sirensong, I used SSBC-USA front disc brake kit A153 on my '71 Dart GT. I wanted to keep the 5 on 4" small bolt pattern Rallye wheels (I also have the factory SBP 8 3/4" rear end). It was a very complete kit. I'd use them again.

    Front disc brake conversion kits

I used SSBC (now SSBC-USA) on my '71 Dart GT. It offers either large or small bolt pattern (I chose small as my car has a factory small bolt pattern 8 3/4" rear-end). It was expensive, but a very complete kit. I would use them again. FYI factory 14" X 5 1/2" STEEL wheels did not fit on my...

Need help on front disc conversion 1972 swinger

I used the A153 kit on my car: A153 Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit, Mopar Non Power As for the wheels, the (front) wheels in my picture are 14" X 5 1/2" small bolt pattern Rallye wheels. They fit/clear perfectly. The steel wheel you posted will likely NOT fit/clear.

Need help on front disc conversion 1972 swinger

I used SSBC-USA for my '71 Dart GT. It was done about 15 years ago (when it was called SSBC). It was expensive, but it is a very complete kit and an easy swap. SSBC-USA front discs also allow for either the SBP (Small Bolt Pattern (5 on 4")) or the LBP (Large Bolt Pattern (5 on 4 1/2")). I...

Thoughts on Drum to Disc Conversions…

I used the SSBC kit on my '71 Dart GT. SSBC allows small or large bolt pattern wheels. It does push the front wheels outboard ~1/4" (if I remember correctly). It was expensive, but it was a complete kit with good directions. I would use them again. My $.02 opinion!

    71 dart disc brake swap

I went with the SSBC kit about 16 years ago. Yes it is pricey, but it is complete and gives you the option for small bolt or large bolt pattern. Check them out here: SSBC-USA | American Stopping Power

LF DISC BRAKE KIT/HELP 67 DART

I put SSBC front discs on my '71 Dart GT about 15 years ago. My car has the factory installed 5 on 4" (sbp) 8 3/4" rear end, which is why I chose SSBC kit. It was expensive, but very complete and I'd use them again. My car runs 14" X 5 1/2" factory Rallye wheels up front (15" X 7"...

    Mancini Disc Brakes

I assume you mean the MBM kit? If so, I have a buddy that put the big bolt pattern kit on his '72 Scamp. He is completely satisfied with them. 15 years ago I installed the SSBC front disc brake kit on my '71 Dart GT. It was a very complete kit, albeit expensive ($820 if I remember...

A Body Disc Brake Swap 101

SixgunSal, I put SSBC front discs on my '71 Dart GT about 15 years ago. I chose SSBC because of the small bolt pattern (the kit is dual pattern) as my car has the factory installed A-body, sbp, 8 3/4", 741, 3.23:1 sure-grip rear end. The factory 14" X 5 1/2" Rallye wheels fit perfectly. The...

Pirate Jacks disc brake conversion kits

I have had the SSBC A153 kit on my '71 Dart GT for about 15 years now and I'm completely satisfied with them. I too chose them so I could keep the small bolt pattern wheels as well (I have a factory installed 8 3/4", 3.23:1, 741 sure-grip rear end). FYI, the factory 14" X 5 1/2" Rallye wheels...

    1970 Valiant Disc Brake Conversion

If I remember correctly, the rims were hitting the calipers as the lug nuts were tightened down. Some people suggested I could grind the calipers a bit for the needed clearance, or to use spacers to push the wheels outboard a little further. I chose to keep my 14" X 5 1/2" sbp Rallyes up...

    1970 Valiant Disc Brake Conversion

I have SSBC on my '71 Dart GT. Very easy install. Option to run small bolt or large bolt pattern wheels. Be advised that, at least on my car, the 14" X 5 1/2" wide (& 4 1/2" wide) STEEL wheels do NOT clear. However, the 14" X 5 1/2" wide factory Rallye wheels fit fine.

    SBP disc brakes

Might be an "apples & oranges" situation here, but I tried a 14" X 4 1/2" sbp STEEL wheel on my SSBC equipped front disc brake '71 Dart GT. It didn't fit. So, I contacted SSBC and they assured me the 14" X 5 1/2" STEEL wheel would fit. It didn't. Oddly enough, the factory 14" X 5 1/2" RALLYE...

1970 dart swinger Wheels needed after wilwood brake front and rear

Have you looked at the SSBC kit? I used it on my '71 Dart GT and was able to keep the factory 14" X 5 1/2" small bolt pattern Rallye wheels. I don't know if the 14" X 5 1/2" STEEL wheels will fit. Gratuitous picture from the Woodward Dream Cruise!

    SSBC Disk brake conversion kits

I put the SSBC kit on my '71 Dart GT about 12 years ago. It is a very complete kit and allowed me to keep the 5 on 4" small bolt pattern Rallye wheels (14" X 5 1/2"). This was important to me as I also have a factory installed 3.23:1 sure-grip 8 3/4" rear-end. Over the years I've put about...

Will SSBC Discs clear my SBP 14" Cragar SS Wheels???

I used the SSBC kit on my '71 Dart GT. I have the factory 14 X 5 1/2" (5 on 4" small bolt pattern) Rallye Wheels on it with no issues. Very complete kit! Expensive, but well worth it in my opinion.
