    I know in my 72 Demon, the center link was the same /6 to V8. I'd actually bought a V8 Duster centerlink off of eBay (from a member here I believe) as I'd been told that the V8 centerlinks were different but when it arrived, it was the same piece I already had. Oh well, you can never have too...

    Laughing My A$$ Off ;) PS: I want to swap a crate Hemi into my imaginary Barracuda... can I borrow some money for the build? I just know it'll be way more than a 440 swap. LMAO! :D

    Now? The 340 but mostly because my car is already set-up for the small block (after much expense). As I mentioned above, I was all set to go 440 before the rug was pulled out from under me... if I was starting over, 440 just for the cachet of having an RB a-body again. :)

    Only because I couldn't afford a 440 to swap into my Demon! LOL! Seriously though, a friend had a 68 440/727 combo that came out of a running 70 Challenger a few years ago that he promised to sell me for the car but then reneged at he last minute after he bought a 71 Satellite Sebring powered...

    Most motorhome 440s were mid-late 70 motors, ie: cast crank, low compression. Not as desirable as the steel crank, high compression pre-72 engines. I think the popular motorhome engine during the musclecar years was the 413 which featured an odd-ball waterpump arrangement. That's my take on it...

    RB = Raised Block, 440 B = 361, 383, 400

    You know what I like about this board the most? The fact that we can have a discussion like this where everyone has a difference of opinion (some fairly extreme!) but no one has resorted to name calling and insults. I'm on a few other forums (Jeep, model cars, etc) and so many threads end up...

    Around my neck of the woods, 440's aren't that hard to come by but if you want a 340, you're going to pay a good buck even for one that needs a total rebuild. I'd go out on a limb and say that a performance 340 build could cost more than a comparable RB motor.

    Call me a liar if you wish but I just did the swap not 2 months ago so I know what I'm talking about. I actually think a /6 to V8 swap would be more costly since you definiately have to change front brakes and rear axle. Many SB cars came with front disk brakes and some even came with 8 3/4"...

    It's about the same cost to swap in a small block where a slant six was originally... ask me how I know! ;) Your exhaust quote seems really low to me. When I had the full 2 1/2 duals custom bent and installed for the 360 in my car, the bill went to $840 including the mufflers (cash, no bill)...
