Product Review EverTough Nut Splitter 65126

Craftsman used to make a great nut splitter, one came in a tool kit that I received as a teen many many years ago. It sat in my tool box for years until I had a tie rod nut someone had completely rounded off until it was a complete circle. I tried the splitter and it worked like a champ before...

Need a good honest shop for my Dart

If it were my car, I would pull the fender, bumper and grill to see how extensive the damage is to the inner fender and the front frame horn. Take plenty of pictures of the damage and take them to the repair shops to see if you can get an idea of how much money to start with. See if anyone close...

Read up on all of the OSHA and ASNI specs for respirators. This will explain to you the uses for them, if nothing else go to a dealership collision repair and ask to have a discussion with one or two of the paint guys.

    Oil filter cutting tool

I've had that type of filter cutter for years, it's the best way I've found to check for debris in a freshly assembled engine after break in.

Where to put the air compressor?

As stated, when it's outside of the work area you don't have to contend with the noise. I put mine in a closet I added to the end of my shop and plumbed it to a 40 gallon tank that is under a work bench. That was 8 years ago and I've never regretted it.

How often do you drain your air compressor?

I use my compressor on an infrequent basis so I drain it after I use it. The previous compressor developed a pin hole leak due to rust from the previous owner not draining it regularly.

    Screwdrivers

Yeah, when the suits and the bean counters thought they could add to their bottom line by no longer offering a warranty they "screwed" themselves. The consumer quits buying the merchandise and down go the profits.

    Screwdrivers

RRR, I saw a Klein reps vehicle at an electrical supply house not long after I was denied the warranty. I tracked him down, handed him the screwdriver, explained the lifetime warranty denial to him and then told him to put the screwdriver where the sun doesn't shine.

    Screwdrivers

After Klein did away with their lifetime warranty on their screwdrivers, I bought a set of Kobalt screwdrivers from Lowe's. I've swapped one of the #2 Phillips drivers out because the tip didn't hold up, I walked in, handed it to a nice lady at the return desk. She told me to get one from the...

Getting a new toolbox for my home shop

The newer US General tool boxes are built as well as some of the high end boxes in my opinion. As soon as I have enough room to get one into my storage area, I plan to buy one. Unfortunately, the wife said "No tool boxes in the house". I have no problem with that because she very rarely puts any...

    Garage Floor Coating?

Just be sure the new concrete is "fully" cured before any coating is applied. Green not fully cured concrete will cause some of the coatings to lift.

Cutting a hole in sheet metal

As stated, use plenty of cutting fluid & minimal pressure. Let the hole saw do the work, maximum pressure & trying to force it to cut equals work hardened metal.

Opinions, sources, LED conversion 2-D cell Maglite bulbs?

Ever since Maglite reverted to the originals owners wife (I believe divorce was involved), the quality had been in the sewer. I tried getting replacement parts (switch) & was told they no longer serviced parts. Basically they told me to buy a new flashlight, which I did but it wasn't one of theirs.

Bang for buck laser /Infra red thermometer?

I've had a Harbor Freight laser for at least 17 years that we used to check track temps at the strip, also intake, exhaust & coolant temps. It has given me no problems & I've only put a single battery in it in all of that time.
