Brand loyal or just like a good vehicle?

For my hobby I'm open to anything obscure between 1949 and 1972. No Camero, Chevelle or Mustang though. Building my last build now, a 1965 Mercury Comet Cyclone. My 67 Notch is my DD, in storage until warmer climes prevail. My family rigs are my 2013 Black Diamond Avalanche and my wife's 2015...

    SIT BACK AND THINK

The pendulum swings both ways. For myself I am glad for all the events good and bad that happened to me. It is all foundational background that makes us who we are today and I certainly have no complaints. I just completed my first six months of retirement and I find more joy every day. Being a...

    crypto currency investing, anyone?

Very true DB 318. Since 1971 when Nixon unhinged the dollar from the price of metals the dollar has been a Fiat Currency as well. The Chinese wanted to be paid in gold/silver so Nixon decoupled the dollar from being a "silver certificate" and let it float. The only value the dollar has now is in...

    crypto currency investing, anyone?

Bitcoin is a "fiat currency" which means it has no real value other than the perception that it does have value. It is strings of 1's and 0's in the cloud and was made up by some fairly imaginative people. By advocates saying it has value, some folks believe it. I am a metals guy myself and in...

    Working late again

I worked in agriculture my whole life and it is a 50/70 hour a week job about 8 months a year. It didn't hurt me and I retired late in life about 6 months ago. Now I really enjoy my time and no more stress. As the sales Manager for our company, I was responsible for screening, hiring and...

    Body work and paint

I see how it can take that long. Those shops are providing "best of show" quality paint finishes. That requires cure and shrink time between steps. And the time spent blocking and priming could be hundreds of hours. It could take 2 weeks from the time they start to apply color another 2 weeks...

    My Friends Drive ........

Brand doesn't matter to me. Cool is cool. I'm driving my 67 notch while I bring my 65 Comet Cyclone back from the edge. It's still on the rotisserie but I have all the parts and paint bought for it an safely stored. Damn PPG concept went up in price about triple since I last painted my notch...

Do your coworkers give you weird looks sometimes?

Yes I was that guy until I retired. Now it's just me and the wife and she visits me in the garage to see what I'm doing on my current build.

How Do You Feel Upon Rising in the Morning?

Retired at 75 with a project car on the rotisserie. Two cups of coffee, my vegetarian breakfast and I am ready to go. Up at 5:30 most mornings and all the usual aches and pains that go with my age, 2 metal knees and a back surgery. Now days I work on my project car most days from about 9:00 to...

    The legend has retired----------------

Thanks 360---I have two metal knees and a bad back but I think I can finish my current build with the rotisserie and a body cart. It's just hard to get up and down from the floor. Thanks for the acknowledgement Rusty. I have been blessed with the passion to design/build from a young age. It's...

    The legend has retired----------------

After 34 years 6 months and 14 days I have retired from my current job at the age of 75 years old. I stayed because I loved the challenge of the work and the satisfaction derived from it. Time to turn the page and move on to the next thing which includes my current build on my rotisserie.

    Small local car show

I showed my Barracuda for the third time since finishing yesterday. Our local springfest show has 138 entries. The only other early Mopar at the show. Cool lady, she has driven the leaning tower of power coast to coast. We had a good visit. An overview of the crowd. Because it was in the...

How much did a gallon of gas cost when you first started driving?

Whatever gas sold for in 1962. Around a quarter a gallon. I know it was painless to fuel my 62 impala SS 409 tri power hardtop. Tires were another matter though.

    CBD PRODUCTS

I use it orally and it works for me. Legal and controlled in my state so it's readily available. I'm 75 years old and I have a lot of chronic pain. For me it's a good solution.
