Probably a real dumb question but ....

Would E85 work? I know a dedicated E85 build shoots for some pretty high compression ratios but no idea if 13:1 + boost is too high.

I saw rivets so betting they were MLS.

    20psi stock 5.9 carnage

I gave a 225 away just last fall. It was locked up and I even knocked it apart before I gave it away. Ok, I thought it was a 198 and was going to sell the connecting rods, but still... :D

    72 duster 360 NA to 390 Turbo

Ouch. I’m putting a Hughes EFI intake on my motor but not planning to run EFI until next year. So I am plugging mine, but wanted a way to do it without hurting the intake. You said you are going EFI later, right? What’s your plan?

    72 duster 360 NA to 390 Turbo

Looks like you have an intake machined for EFI but plugged the injector ports? What did you do to plug them?

Another small block turbo early valiant

Been thinking about a road race pan, but need to buy a flywheel and some other stuff so not sure i can swing I yet. Let me look up the pan and think on it it. Nice thing is, you are local enough we could skip shipping. :D

Which Kevco pan do you need to send down the road?

    The Turbocharger Bible

The 0.283 is an exponent. Take the pressure ratio and multiply it by itself 0.283 times. Then multiply the absolute inlet temp.

Which intake for turbo 360 magnum??

Wonder if you could actually get the delivered. I thought there weren't any available anymore, so I only looked for used and gave up. I wanted the Victor intake bad, but just couldn't make it pencil out. I bought the Hughes intake as I didn't feel like there was much choice. Didn't want the...

Which intake for turbo 360 magnum??

Don't think the Edelbrock intake will work with a standard Magnum intake bolt pattern, only the LA style. Doesn't mean you couldn't buy EQ heads with the LA bolt pattern, but it stopped me from looking at that intake due to the heads I already had. Unless I am misunderstanding which intake, or...

    Slant 6 Turbo 68Dart Project

Found this thread where Shaker223 mentions his dyno run and states that the motor is stock other than 340 valve springs and a turbo (his first post in the thread). Further down in the thread, it appears that this "discusson" (<- pissing match) happened before he made his first drag run...

    Slant 6 Turbo 68Dart Project

Took a while to read through all of this so maybe I missed it, but I don't remember anyone mentioning anything about valve springs. I know Shaker223 says he shimmed his valve springs and at some point he went to 340 valve springs. Looked for some links, but didn't find what I wanted in the...

Show off your intercooler and plumbing

Doesn't look like anyone else asked, so I guess I will. I'd love to see some pictures! I know it's only little 2.2 FWD cars, but I've owned one with an intercooler and one without. After owning both, I swore I would never build a turbo car without an intercooler, it just made that much of a...

Another "what about thread" = Turbonetics To4e

Probably going to need more info before anyone can help you. The To4e (or T04r) is a frame size, and while the hot and cold a/r ratios sound ok to me, you really need to know what compressor and turbine wheels are in it. Without that you really can't tell much. Kind of like asking "how fast...

    The Turbocharger Bible

Several years ago I spent so much time plugging numbers into the formulas in that link that I finally wrote a spreadsheet to do the math for me. Good stuff.

what do you need to turbo our small bolcks?

Where do you start? How about with this. 8) Unfortunately, it isn't an open T4 flange like Prine suggested, but a split one.

    K-car turbos

Thanks Shaker! Looks like a different one than I had seen but gets the job done. I found the instructions I have on a blowthrough mailing list on Yahoo, but you have to join and it's not one I would suggest.

    K-car turbos

BTW, try and find the Garret turbos, 87 and earlier non-intercooled or any intercooled motor. The Mitsu turbo has a much smaller scroll and will choke your motor, even though both the Garret and Mitsu have the same turbine A/R.

    K-car turbos

Most blow through setups I've seen don't use a box, but they do use a Holley. Carter, and Edelbrocks, are a little harder to configure, but not impossible. I've seen a tutorial on how to do it, pretty sure the biggest hurdle was finding solid floats (you can crush the brass ones with too much...

    Turbo questions, help

You'd be lucky to have 8:1 compression on a stock slant. They are notoriously low, just pefect for boost. Only problem is the pistons are cast so you have to be careful with detonation. The pistons are pretty beefy, but still something to watch for. Only thing Shaker223 did was better valve...
