Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

The 'rubber' gasket came in. It's some sort of hard composite...guessing. Installing it dry.

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

Should just be called matter remover.

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

I shouldn't need remover unless my eyes are deceiving me. And it came out so easy without a trace of anything showing anywhere. Almost sure it was metal to metal.

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

Thanks TrailBeast, it's a machined surface. Going to take a awhile to clean the that area of the block due to restrictions. Add a born klutz with old ape hands and arms.

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

Ordered a Victor rubber gasket. They have paper locally if I need one. Going back out to make sure I'm seeing metal on the block side.

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

Came out real easy. 1" socket. Pics below after cleanup of the engine side. There was no gasket, no sealant, no nothing. Metal to metal fit. Thinking of a thin bead of RTV and/or gasket. Any thoughts on that bright idea? If the leak persists, I'll turn it into a project.

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

Nope, no room for anything but OEM under there...control arms and exhaust in the way. I can't even fit a PH8 filter where the PH16 goes

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

Time to get under there. There is a ring of oil around the plate and oil is dripping off the filter. I definitely will check for an old filter gasket. Pretty sure it's not the rear main, I've had that before more than once and oil always drips out the bottom where the trans meets the motor and...

Will this fix my 5.9 magnum oil leak?

http://stores.hi-potek.com/oil-filter-adapter-plate-gasket-and-stud-kit-for-3-9-5-2-5-9-dodge-magnum-engine/ The last 4 filters have leaked so I'm sure it's not the filter gasket. How does the plate get removed? Will I mangle the plate or do I just need the gasket only? If it can be mangled...

    Slant 6 hesitation or stumble

Last resort stuff....on the carb, maybe a leak where the throttle rod (the part the throttle plate attaches to) goes through the bushings. Slop there results in a vacuum leak. Or an intake manifold leak. I had a very similar problem, NOS Holley carb, Remflex manifold gasket, and discoed the...

    trailer winch

lol I did say last time I looked. Looks like Superwinch was bought out by Westin. There was a short period where you couldn't buy anything Superwinch or have any contact with Superwinch. I guess I don't have to worry about my LP8500. Superwinch closes business

$1000.00 to change PS pump pulley.

Gen1 and gen2 brackets are different, but all the mounting holes are the same. It's the depth.

$1000.00 to change PS pump pulley.

What you need is the cast bracket and steel pulley from 93-95 to eliminate the non-metal, although the later bracket can be modded to align I'm sure.

    trailer winch

Last time I looked, Superwinch was defunct. I'd do a Warn M8000. Likely will last an eon doing light duty.

$1000.00 to change PS pump pulley.

Sounds good. There is an 'ok' mark on the belt tensioner that you can observe at idle. I have had 3 ZJs, all 93-95 (gen1) V8s. The PS pulley on gen1 is steel so I re-use it if possible. The bracket is a known weak spot, never had trouble tho. There is a bulletproof aftermarket bracket...

Is it V8 or I6? Check the belt tension and pulley/serp alignment. You don't want a recurrence.

    duped also

It's hard to prove fraud in this particular case. It's 'what you see is what you get' unless otherwise stated. And bad bodywork is not against the law.

    duped also

A friend of mine bought a car via ebay from Maryland. It was full of rust and the rust was painted over to make the pics look good. There was nothing she could do short of spending a lot of time and money. I warned her beforehand to never buy anything that is expensive, unseen and out of state...
