Ross, I'm very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He sounded like a great guy.
Cuda pics look great.
One thing about this build as opposed to the Duster.... You KNOW how it's going to go back together. You dont have all of those head scratching decisions to make which MAY reduce the amount...
Yep. Same story, different chapter. Looks good!
I wish I would've changed up my wiper motor as well. It would be nice to have intermediate wipers. Oh well.
I guess I didn't really take too many pics of the fab work. I just cut out the heater blower motor area, the bulkhead area and the wiring channel on the fenderwell and filled them in with flat steel. It sucks cutting up a finished car but I love it now! First pic is obviously a before pic. LOL
Dammit.... how am I supposed to be the big tough guy with tears rolling out of my eyes?
You are the man and I know your mother is very proud of the son she raised! There may be a little jealousy among her freinds and some pissed off sons but it is worth it to see that look on her face!
No disrespect intended. I just always assumed that the Challenger chassis would be too wide for an A-body. I really figured that the wheels would be hanging out by 6 inches on either side.
This thing is looking GOOD and I can't wait to see more!
Thanks. I just made the dash and console out of steel, exhaust and whatever scrap I had laying around. I tried to make the side ridges of the console match the bottom ridge of the dash to make it look like it wasn't an afterthought.
Probably not the lightest dash and console around but it has a...
Thanks. I'm happy and that's the bottom line. LOL Build your ride your way!!
I like all kinds of cars and styles. I really don't care what style a build is. I appreciate everything from a stock curved dash Oldsmobile to over the top show cars and trucks.
I built this car because I wanted...
Had a couple request for updates. Not much new. I did put in a Spec clutch and QuickTime bellhousing. Now I should be able to add big boost with fear of loosing the clutch.
Finished up the interior, put in remote keyless entry and some other remote items. That required a little re-wiring so I...
I just don' know if I can fully trust people that aren't animal lovers... sorry to hear about Scuffs.
As far as the car goes...... talk about over restored!! VERY NICE!
And they give me a hard time about how low my car sits!
That's going to be wicked little ride. Not enough 1st gens out there. Keep at it because this one is going to be fun to watch!
Thanks Giuseppe.
I couldnt afford to have someone build a car for me. The only thing I didn't do to this car was the interior. I wanted it nice and I don't have the tools or know how to do what I want..... yet. LOL The car has flaws but I think it presents itself well enough.
The pics in this...
Well, you know how I feel about red grill accents....LOL
That car is going to stick out like a sore thumb. Very slick for sure. You should see a gold glow protruding above whatever parking lot it is sitting in!
Gorgeous
Thanks Denny, I appreciate the complements.
There are still a couple of things that I would like to do to the car. I would like to boost the horsepower and I would like to widen the rear wheels to 12 inches but overall.... I guess there is not a lot left that I NEED to do other than run the...
Thanks.
The seats are from a 2015 Buick Regal GS turbo. They are full power with memory and heaters. I had to disect the wiring and take out the air bags but everything including the memory now works.
I had my Interior guy copy a pattern that I found on line but to the insert stitching in red...
LOL And I appreciate your opinion. If we all liked the same stuff we would probably be happy cruising around in a Prius!
The important thing is that we are out there doing our own thing!!
Enjoy
I've been busy with work, some time helping out in Houston and helping with other builds but this is the year of the Demon!
I guess it's been a while since I've done an update so here goes.
The car is running but still needs some fine tuning. Interior is done other than painting the console. I...
Oh, make no mistake..... I COMPLETELY understand. If we were all rich we would have to buy small countries to keep our toys in. Just hate to see it go, that's all.
I know that Cuda will be second to none once it's done. It's in good hands!
Damn.... never got a chance to see that car in person and I'm sorry for that. I'm glad that you got your money just sorry to see it leave for some reason!
After looking at Cody's frontend, I guess I don't have a Super slammer. The way my air dam is designed, I can run my frontend on the middle setting and still be plenty low.
The crossmember hoop is about 9" tall, 14" wide at the bottom. It's hard to see now because I just put some seem sealer on it. I forgot to put it on befor the undercoating...doh. The tunnel is about 40" long and 17" across the bottom at the front.
The tunnel doesn't have the be as big as mine is...
I got some really poor pics that were takin in a hurry tonight. I forgot to get the crossmember pics but I was trying to get to the power coating shop before it closed.
All I can say is that I've have my hands on two of Denny's frontends, one RMS and the Control Freak for my Roadrunner. I've also dealt with a bunch of after market street rod stuff. Denny's is as good or better than the best and WAY better than the worst!! TOP QUALITY STUFF!
