I would say about 9 to 1 and the 274 xe would do good ,that's what I had in my 340 with a 4 sp,3.91 .You are not gaining much hp upping the comp. ratio ,for a street car anyway compared to the problems ,pinging, more fuel cost per. gal.ect.Been down that road! 100 horse spray would be cheaper...

I had the same cam in a 340 cuda yrs. ago . Sounded good lots of lope ,ran good with 3000 stall, holley strip dom. int. and 3.91 or 4.88 gears{would switch} .Drove it all the time .

I have fished them out through the open areas where the manifold bolt goes through the head if the casting flashing is not to bad in the way,saves time and alot of work. Used a coat hanger L shaped on the end and maybe flatten to snag in the snap ring groove. Done it more than once replacing...
