    tti headers

$1,400 w/o mufflers for the ceramic coated polished headers & X pipe system in 2.5" And NO ONE sells them cheap as they're pretty much "price fixed". :angry7: But they ARE nice.... I have an installation thread in the Exhaust Section from a while ago.

    tti headers

Use the search function as there's plenty of threads on TTI's and their installation. If it's a 4 spd. you'll have to wrestle with modifying the Z bar for the clutch. If you have a Lakewood scatter shield you'll have to trim it with a sawzall. Automatic's are pretty much a drop-in affair as they...

    TTi Headers and 4 speed

Try installing a set of TTI's on a 4 spd. A body with a Lakewood scatter shield! I posted a thread in the EXHAUST forum on my TTI installation. While I didn't have to hack up my Z bar and do any welding, I did have to massage it with a torch. Three or nine times if I remember right...

    TTI exhaust too loud

And my problem is PLAYING in loud bands! I have a full TTI system with X pipes tied onto Flowmasters and THAT'S where my problem is. I'm hating those damn Flowmasters more & more when ever I drive my car. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of Dynomax welded mufflers are next up. But there IS...

TTI exhaust, is it worth it??

Here's my .02 on TTI's, which I think are over-priced by about $600..... My car is a 4 spd. small block w/ a Lakewood scattersheild. I've been a automotive technician 30+ years..... I have all the right tools...... And they were a ***** to install. :blackeye...

New guy trying to get the "best of" exhaust posts

I know the words for those feelings. They're a HUGE pain in the ***!!!!!!!!!!!! See my TTI odessy.... http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=65442 Use the search button for TTI, or headers, threads. There's a whole bunch of them. If there's a next time, I'm going with the Dougs...

    2 1/2 " TTI exhaust pipes

Are the engine mounts new? Is the engine centered? Was the car ever hit? There's many variables that could affect installation and clearances. I just did a completed TTI system install on my car and there were plenty of issues. See my thread...

    Unsolicited advice

Refer to my TTI installation thread in the exhaust section.... I had the incorrect header reducers sent to me and I too had to cut back my pipes at the muffler so it all fit. Steve also mentioned it was a `66 Charger, not an A Body. My opinion? TTI's are over-priced by about $500 for all the...

piece of crap headers - i give up

And that's 2 years if you live in the desert. If you have any type of weather, they're already rusting out....but don't worry. You'll probably rip them out on a speed bump first! Headers.... the bane of every A Body enthusiast! :angry7:

    TTI Exhaust system

Should we make this a tech section addition? http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=65442

Are all (cheap) headers created equally?

You actually answered your own question.... cheap is cheap. The fitment issues w/ Hookers (and most others...) are due to them copying each other. And they all suck... Most cheapie headers require you wrap pipes around steering linkage and need a ball-peen hammer for final adjustments. Then...

    Good Bye Flowmasters!

Aside from inlet/outlet locations, these are the same mufflers, right? The 17219 & 17222 are the straight-through mufflers everyone claims to flow and sound good. I need a change here guys.... a change for the better!

    Good Bye Flowmasters!

The one's your installing are the welded straight-through items, right? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-17219/ I'm very interested in how your car sounds. I might get the same mufflers.

    Good Bye Flowmasters!

I'm guessing the welded are the ones everyone has posted positive comments on. For a $150 (+ $25 rebate....) they sound reasonable, especially compared to the rest of the system. Here we go.... bolt stuff on, remove stuff, buy stuff, replace stuff, do it again... :angry7:

    Good Bye Flowmasters!

Mine are 2.50" X 18-19"...... All I know is that they are getting annoying. I'm a big fan of noise, but these are obnoxious. I'll crawl under the car (again...) and measure before I order anything. Thanks for the info & links. 8)

    Good Bye Flowmasters!

Well, as I get to drive my car more & more I am realizing that I too don't like Flowmasters.... They are starting to annoy me when I drive my car. Dynomax it is, but what size? My Flowmasters are 19" and JEGS advertises 16" Dynomax's. Should I shop elsewhere? I'd hate like hell to "modify"...

I'm glad things are going to China

That's exactly what I had to do: tighten-up almost every damn bolt that was left loose from the stateside factory! Cars with no transmission fluid or A/C lines not being CONNECTED, never mind no R-134! And these were cars coming off of the delievery trailer! Never mind the cars being aligned...

    TTI Installation Thread

Sorry for not including a picture of the modified Z-bar, but by the second trip to bend it, I was loosing my ambition. I was soooo happy when it finally fit, I never took a picture. Looking at the Z-bar from behind(clutch pedal end up on the left, the adjuster leg bottom right) you want to...

    TTI Installation Thread

Thanks for the compliment. I've been hearing the pro's & con's over this system for years now. I figured I'd chronicle what happened to me and how I resolved it. The hack-job on my scattershield will get cleaned up at work one Saturday up on a lift, along with replacing my shifter bushings. I...

Thank you to fellow FABO'er Mikel Beck for providing a cool video hosting site: WWW.DRAGMOTION.COM It's rare that I go anywhere without my video camera in my pocket. I had recorded my car a few days ago when some friends stopped by to see & hear it run. Thanks to Mikels site here's a clip...

    TTI Installation Thread

I have a new laptop and I just got the home PC back yesterday. I'm having trouble uploading MP4's on the laptop, and I have no idea what still works in the PC tower after I had it Exorcised last week.... But I promise, video is coming. =P~

    TTI Installation Thread

I re-used the Flowmasters. I know they're not everyones favorite, but with the X-pipe it sounds exactly the way I want it to sound: It idles pretty quiet, growls a bit more during normal cruising, and it get's nasty when you REALLY get on it. But it's nowhere NEAR as bad as it was, which made me...

    TTI Tease

You DIDN'T have clearance issues on the passenger side header!?!?!? Wow... I had to cut out a 1/4" slice to make `em fit. The pipes were hitting right here. NO WAY could I have tightened the flanges without pulling the threads out of my heads, bending or cracking the flange to pipe welds...
