the bolt along with Teflon sealer keep water from coming out of the block.
The bolt goes right into the cast iron block.

Sounds like it's low on Freon to me.
The cheapest source for original r12 I have found is on ebay , there are 100's of original cans people sell on there.
I took the whole assembly out of my dart 15 or so years ago.
To defrost I open up the vent windows , and enough heat comes thru the firewall to keep me warm enough until it gets below freezing.
And it never gets driven in any cold or weather anyway
The tires would throw road crap up into the radiators.
And as far as putting it in the back you would have to pipe coolant back there then back to the engine.
Stick to computer cooling and leave the cars to people who are capable
The radiator I used was a champion MC2374 22in 4 core rated at 650hp.
I couldn't see getting the 26in one and having to make modifications , 650 hp is plenty enough cooling for me.

The last one I did I wraped a chain around it and used my engine hoist to hold it,overkill but the hoist was doing nothing anyway
I have laid a 2X4 across the inner fenders in front of the carb and laid it down on it ,worked real well
