    I give up

Replace the radiator and be done with it. After that flush it and change the coolant every year and you'll be fine. 300,000 miles on the original radiator and probably never had the coolant changed unless something went bad. Tsk, tsk.

    Has anybody tried Freeze-12?

I think the problem is if there is an evaporator leak and the stuff gets in the closed passenger compartment. I've converted many R12 systems to R134a without incident. Just use about 2/3 of the required R12 charge and the ester oil and you should be good to go. They may not cool as well at...

    Electric water pump BBL

Actually a properly sized electric fan will do more than an engine driven fan, especially at idle. Many new cars only have electric fans. That's not the problem. Sealing the radiator to the core support is good advise but if he's installed a pusher fan on the engine side of the radiator he's...

    Electric water pump BBL

Did I read this right? You installed a pusher fan on the engine side of the radiator?

    Electric water pump

Yeah those electric motor driven stock pumps will not work at all. As for the electric pumps though, some say they work, others say they don't. It probably all depends on your engine and the complete cooling system. I have a Meziere on my race car and it works good for that but it wouldn't...

    Tranny cooler locations.

Well Johnny, if you don't drive it on the street you don't really need a cooler at all. I don't run one on my car.

Upper radiator Hose for Alum Radiator?

That's what I did. I used coat hanger to aproximate what I needed then with a tape measure and all the hose bibb sizes in hand I went to the local parts store where they let me pick out a couple hoses. Got the right ones on the money the first time too.

    Tranny cooler locations.

When I drove my car on the street I moved as much stuff to the rear of the car as possible, this included the tranny cooler. I mounted it up at an angle behind the left rear tire with it's own 10" fan. I fabricated a shield to keep it from being pelted with rocks, debris and rubber from the...

    Running Hot

Well cars today with electric fans don't come on until 212 and go off at 190. This of course is for emissions and fuel economy purposes though. They run better when they are colder. One more thing, I just gutted a standard thermostat to use as a restrictor. You don't need a t/stat.

    Running Hot

Yeah, I take several gallons of water in a cooler full of ice so I can cool it down in the late rounds. I also don't run the car any longer than necessary, I'll get up some speed and click it into neutral and coast up the return road or through the pits when going back up to the lanes.

    Running Hot

Yeah, a little more info. I wouldn't leave the pump off until it warms up though. I turn mine on when ever the engine is running but leave the fan off until it gets around 130-140. I should mention here that my car likes to be cold, I don't like to leave the line at more than 140-150. And to...

    water pumps

If you are spinning it hard I would just get a stock pump for an A/C equipped car. They have more impellers but they are smaller for less drag. Also what are you using for a fan?
