    They aren't SFI certified so they are not legal for NHRA. This includes the early Lakewoods as well, with out the SFI decal they aren't legal if the rules require an SFI scattershield.

    Nothing wrong with a pedal stop. In fact all the early 4 speed racers used them before the advent of clutchless transmissions. I'm willing to bet they still do use them as a means to adjust reaction time.

    I might be mistaken but I thought Brett put a Dana 60 under there. That is where I was with my car, either a 60 had to go in or an automatic. I went for the auto.

    Two things, first there were some 273/slant six trannys (not those O/D units mind you) with a 3.09 first gear. I had one in my car, it worked fine but it's just too brutal. Secondly if it's bogging you need to launch at wide open throttle. Do you have a rev limiter on it? Set it up about 200...

    A833 is killing me.

    Crap I spent about $3500 in 4 speed stuff for my car before breaking something else in the driveline on every freekin pass down the track. Finally had to cut my losses (and weight) and put an automatic in it.

    Early A body. SB with Lakewood

    I had a Lakewood and a small block in my 72 and it was a pain in the butt. Those things are necessary but man I hate them.
