In 92 all the V8's had the 518 behind them. The V6's had the 500. The 500 is still a good trans and will hold up behind a V8. 92 should also have the larger cooler lines. That is a lock up 500 and came with the low gear set. That alone should make it worth the $100. Hell I'd buy it for parts...
