That makes me feel better, knowing the head gaskets solved your problem. I will be pressure testing everything once it is all back together.

This was checked with putty on the initial installation. The clearance was fine. And yes the putty was removed.

Torqued at 110 using the same sequence I posted earlier. And yes that 110 is bear to avhieve. But I did it. Where was my 6' 10", 300 pound son when I needed him....LOL

Believe me, I have not forgot about the cam. I just spoke with my buddy. The Cometic head gasket he gave me is the same exact thickness as the first one. We will be at 12:1 as planned.

I have a feeling it was a stud issue. Not compressing tthe gasket properly. I honestly do not know what brand head gasket is being used. The guy that did my machine work handed them to me this morning and said "here, use these they are much better than the Felpro`s" The reason I am waiting on...

Update.......Both heads with new head gaskets are on and torqued at 35 right now. I will torque again tomorrow morning up to 70 then tomorrow afternoon at 110. Dowel depth and diameter is fine. Studs look great, with plenty of room to tighten them up. I sure do appreciate all the help.
