Thanks guys for the quick reply! I guess I will press them back on for the hell of it, since I've got them. Maybe they thought the control arms would flex within the bushing shell under hard braking? That's my only thought on the idea behind them.

I was just wondering what this steel sleeve is for on the backside of the bushing? It's only on the rear bushing on each control arm. I didn't see it at first and wondered why the bushing wouldn't press out. These control arms have never been touched so they are original. It's a 1970 swinger...
