If I did not have a Demon shell all primed wanting a powerplant I'd let them go. I've always had a hankering to do something with a six. Seems to me there should be 198s out there? Is there a link to the article in this thread?

So the 198 rod is shorter? I happen to have a 198 and 225 that were running well when pulled. Might make for a good turbo project?

I'm hazarding another guess. Seems unlikely you could leak that much exhaust without really seeing & smelling it under the hood. Might seem goofy but I'd put on a leather glove, maybe a rag, and try blocking the exhaust at idle while observing under the hood and feeling how much exhaust pressure...

Could you do a simple check for pressure coming from the tube from your intercooler to the carb hat (using your hand on it) while someone lightly loads the engine with brakes on? (farmer thinking)

Of course I know very little but I'll go out on a limb and guess your gauge is not the problem. You're getting tiny boost and feeling it. When you get it sorted out, you'll know it and that grin will be from ear to ear.:burnout:

I'm always drawn to this idea as well. I'm amazed by what members here have done turning the lowly slant into a V8 killer. I'm sure someone named Bill will chime in soon. :happy1:
