Agreed, i had the Mallory built MP adj. dizzy with vacuum pod, you can either run the pod or not, its your choice, it was a nice piece, much better then the "run of the mill" MP kits, that MSD dizzy you spoke of i ordered just the other day, it looks like a decent unit "i hope". "Locked out"...

I'm wondering too, they seem to have all the good stuff built in, like rev-limiter, easy mech. advance adjustment, plus better spark.

I hooked it up using the "white" wire this time, it now fires up, but dies right after & spits back through the carb, I'm thinking this distributor is not a magnetic pickup if it wants to run on the white wire, i guess I'll have to call Mallory on this because i don't know if anyone will have...

Yeah its detailed, doesn't mention running a relay, i wouldn't think it would be hard on the ignition because its wired off the battery just like a 6AL, the only wire is the small red that goes to "key on" power to trigger the box, i do thing i'll run a fuseable link on the "batt' power large...

Ok, i'm getting there purpose now, basically they take the "load" off of the wireing or switch. So, is it safe to say i won't need a relay for this MSD streetfire box sence it doesn't have a toggle switch?

I want to here from some of you what a relay really does, whats it main function, why they are so important to use with nitrous/fans/elec. fuel pumps ect., i'm no electrician, & never will be IMO, my brother on the other hand has mastered this field, but i can rebuild & engine that will leave...

The relay is the fuseable link more or less, so you shouldn't need a fuse/link, i wouldn't worry about running a ballast unless you have problems, i'm not going to use one, i'm not sure which wire goes where on the colors from the relay, so get a wireing diagram for one, there is normally 4...

It does show an option for running a resistor on the street fire CDI, they show it if you have run-on or useing a trigger tach, this will cut voltage down. I've never run a ballast with my MSDs, it gets its voltage/power from the battery & controls it from there, the stock coils will work fine...

Now i'm just "asking" this lol, so IF any of you have had "good" or "bad" exsperiences i'm all ears, i would like to hear your input, please don't reply with - responces if you have never had or useing one.
