A833 with Hurst shifter

Trans is a later dodge truck one and shifter is a '69 which I believe is a "clip" in style. I was planning to just swap the whole shifter box

Is it possible to run a stock non-o/d hurst shifter with a truck o/d? I picked one up with a shifter but wanted to use my A-body handle.

You can use an undersized pilot bushing or Dakota 5-speed roller one. ARP has the correct bolts. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/arp-240-2801/overview/make/dodge. As long as the flywheel is for a 318/340 then it will work.

Can the earlier flange style tail shaft be converted to a slip yoke on a 4-speed? Thanks.

It's a plastic dummy of the trans main shaft used to line everything up to make it possible to put the trans in.

70 is way to big and will hit the dash. 71-74 non console is the best choice.

B-body ones fit also

Look at where the rods mount if the farthest to the front faces down its an OD one.

Bell housing forward will need swapped. If its from a B or E Body you will need to make a mount to relocate the shifter.

I the bell housings are engine color and trans is silver.
