    Performer rpm package?

Is the low (1973) compression and small cubes, going to work well with the big valves/flow and fairly aggressive cam? Seems like it's not a great combo unless the comp. is brought up at least.

    kevco vs milodon

Milodon was a pain to get into my 68 fish with scattershield and flowtech headers. We had a short time to work, so we actually notched out the K frame to get the pan through...

Holley Strip Dominator for the street?

Before I went to Eddy street tunnelram, I had a strip dominator (came with the motor). 340 030, ported T/A heads, 11:01, solid Hughes 245/250@050, 560/575 lift, Carter 750 strip carb. I thought it was fine on the street. Not a daily driver though.

    340 Build Up

SS Camaros typically run mid 13's here at Fontana Speedway, so you don't have to have 500 to 600 ponies. Is your TR a street tunnelram?

Best way to knockout M/T valve cover holes?

Do you use a hole saw to cut out the knockouts? Or a socket? I don't know how brittle they are. They are the typical cast M/T black wrinkle valve covers. Any suggestions? Thx, Kevin

bad boy 273 cid why not

My thoughts, I like the idea of the 273 build. Yes it will take more money, it will need to rpm to make the power but... Seem's like I remember ( 70's/80's) 55 chevys with 283's running some great numbers in the quarter like 10's/11's? They were screamin to do it. I love the idea of putting a...

    Help understanding my odd timing?!?!

Moper, Strokerscamp, Fishy68 and everyone else, THANKYOU for your patience and help! Now newest question. I was trying the paper towel in the hole and when i got to tdc it popped it out of the spark plug hole. Wouldn't this indicate tdc on comp. stroke? If not then I need to pull the V/C and...

Picture of Mopar electronic dist, with mech. tach drive installed?

Does anybody happen to have the old style mopar non vaccum electronic dist. with mechanical tach drive? I need a picture of it installed to see where it's set at for my initial timing. Right now the lube plug is in the way of the hold down bolt so i know it's not right. I thought this might be a...

    Help understanding my odd timing?!?!

we swapped it 180 and it back fired through the carb, so we felt it was correct the other way. The balancer is fresh with about 2000 miles on it. It is a professional products balancer but it ran fine before we pulled the motor and the motor was not touched before reinstalling it. It just seems...

    Help understanding my odd timing?!?!

Moper or anyone else. My 340 will not continue to run! I followed Mopers instructions, Dist. drive gear pointing toward #1, Rotor toward front (it actually pointed to #1, i'm guessing thats what he meant). Plug wires correct. My Dist. is the old school Mopar electronic with mech. tach drive (no...

    More Milodon oil pan PROBLEMS!!!

Finally here are some pics. You can see how the block plate is out away from the block (we have already trimmed the silicone and gasket as much as possible without taking the lip off) Could we trim the outside lip that keeps the seal from going into the pan? And hope the gasket wouldn't move...

    More Milodon oil pan PROBLEMS!!!

The scattershield block protector plate (plate between block and flywheel) is hitting the oil pan seal lip/pan at the bottom and won't sit flat at the back of the block! Anyone found this problem before? This pan is P***ing me off! Had to dent pan/ header to clear headers, notch k member...

    W-2 heads W/ hyd cam?

If they seem to not work, I have a set of 70 T/A heads ported by Bob Mullens I would work out a trade for. I would think they would work better and have value to them. They are currently on my motor. I am running a tunnelram and could use the upper rpm HP.

    Fuel line?

I have the 3/8's pre bent line. How much of a hassle is it to get it in the car. I noticed that the hole in the frame that the original line goes thru could be a problem, being the new line is pre bent.

    Smith Bros pushrods

I have a set in my 340. My friend who got my valvetrain put together correctly, suggested Smith brothers 5/16 vs the 3/8 that were in there. Have had no problems with them.

How do you support the back of the motor?

How do you folks support the back of the motor with the tranny out while trying to move the car around? I guess I can put a 2x4 beneath the rear and bolt it in where the bellhousing bolts. Any suggestions? Thanks Kevin
