K-H front disc seal, what direction

It seems the inner lips is designed to help tighten seal against shaft for internal pressure where oil or grease is. Seems when spring is used, it always goes on oil side.

K-H front disc seal, what direction

I had to think about that twice, to know we are saying the same thing. Open to inside of hub. :)

Can't bleed air out of rear brakes

I am with Leadfoot, but also add a bit of dielectric grease to the external treads of bleeder screw. They can leak vacuum there. I use my hand and arm on the pedal, easier to tell what is happening at master cylinder. It also saves me from getting in and out of car.

brake issues, help me get my car driving

The idea is to have pressure during the bleed, shutting the bleed valve early, insures that. Bleeding to stop, may result in entered air if delay in closing valve. A master cylinder has a thick rubber washer as piston stop, I agree no damage done.

brake issues, help me get my car driving

I have found parking the car on an incline, with master cylinder up hill, helps. Often when pedal is moved slightly from up position, and back up, bubbles will rise in fluid. I start with that, then individual at each wheel is easy. My wife is good help on the pedal, I stop valve before full...

    Front Brakes Hardly Working

Brake hoses can swell and stop the flow for light braking, then with heavy braking pass fluid, then not release. Symptoms include overly stiff pedal, and not much flow when bleeding.

    removing brake line fittings

If at a hose or junction, always place a wrench to hold back. If possible, place the wrenches close so one hand, thumb, them to loosen. It is important to limit the travel, other wise if the nut is stuck to the line, it twists. A small turn, to break loose, then check, that nut moves on...

How do I isolate the leak?

Have you pulled the drums and inspected the rear brakes? Here is a list of things to look for: 1. Stuck wheel cylinders. This happens when corrosion locks the pistons in the bores. Wheel cylinders are about $10 each and change easily unless brake line fitting is rusty. 2. Brake lining...

    Brake pedal stays down?

Just guessing, the master cylinder piston may be sticking in the bore due to rust and/or corrosion. Or the pedal return spring is broke and the linkage is sticky.
