Vent tube with efi tank? Need your opinion Please!

That has to do with "angle of the dangle", rotate filler handle to "up", use first flow notch.

Keep it if you want to keep gas fumes out of a house garage in hot climate.

Vent tube with efi tank? Need your opinion Please!

I find using an evaporative emission canister works well, it keeps garage from smelling like gas. Fumes collected, are burned in purge, at cruise speeds. I do that with my EMS, solenoid valve, and canister scavenged from Dodge Omni.

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

I hope it works for you. I am a wimp. I only do things things after much bench testing, and simulation. It takes time, but reward is getting in, turning key and driving. I actually enjoy the bench work and programming.

Jeep 4.0 Cam Sensor connector or pigtail

If it is a Hall sensor it might need a pull-up. Typical Hall sensors have an open collector output, that goes low when metal target is present. The PCM, may provide pull-up. With PCM powered check the voltage at sensor input. Pull-up value 3.3k is typical. The open collector helps with...

I think 5V is available at PCM, same place TPS gets 5V.

To separate the idle cam from the choke

Trailbeast, Police cars used to have an idle step up control, had a couple early 80s Diplomats. Decades ago, but think it was a T- handle, pull it back, twist to lock. Your post suggests EFI and electronic advance in your future.... With idle air, control, and ignition timing with temperature...

    Fast Ez efi

A TPS is a pot, but and Ohm meter does not always show a problem. Found that out working with a TBI Omni. The TPS can get noisy like an old radio volume control. The increasing change in TPS value, triggers acceleration fuel adders. Noise does same thing. How can a new TPS go bad? Silicone...

    Fast Ez efi

I belive all that. Wiring methods and placement can be crucial. Results vary :). I self tune too, there is a special and correct place for each adjustment. Self tuning is not a cure all.

    Fast Ez efi

Noise is related to sharp edges (fast rise and fall times) of signals. A short transient can theoretically have infinite harmonics. That suggests CDI by design is noisy. EFI and CDI together problematic.

    Fast Ez efi

The Fast system has a data logger. It records operating parameters, reviewing those will lead you to the problems. An example, you are cruising, then engine acts up. Review log, for TPS, RPM, MAP, temperature, timing , fuel delivery... Values should be fairly stable on flat road, large...

This is why a fuel sender dies. (with pic)

I do crazy stuff. Helping the wife at the moment, by restoring a 1936 Singer featherweight case handle. Doing leather work. The sewing is done with two treads, just like interlocking square waves. :) Using pins and original stitch holes. Above shows paper mache restoration

My turn to ask for help with a Holley.

If it has nirophyl floats, they can fuel log. After dried out they can work for a few days... Replace with brass if available,

    Floatless Fuel Sender

I read the Speedhut info, the output is 2.33V empty, 0.54V full as continuous signal. It will not be compatible with stock mopar gauges. Speedhut has a gauge for direct use. A converter to work with mopar gauges using a micro controller, resistor and mosfet is fairly easy. The micro would...

    318 efi on 383

I am willing to help. I will also need your help, to take pictures, tape measure measurements, and record sensor values in relation to crank position. I can explain in detail how to make measurements, and pictures. The measurements can be done in a static manner using an LED and resistor to...

    318 efi on 383

The distributor turns CCW in a 383, the distributor shaft length is different, injectors need to be at least 20% more flow. If the Jeep has distributor Hall tigger, the wheel could be re-indexed slightly to correct for rotor phase issue. Larger injectors might be found that fit, but...

    Choke driving me crazy!

68F is for s cold start, just barely full closed for prime after depress of throttle one to set linkage. Start should be immediate, the vacuum on choke pull-off immediately opens choke the proper amount, then the bi-spring open choke, and further movement steps fast idle cam towards...

    Choke driving me crazy!

I have made custom choke rods to fit various carbs to my 66 273 Barracuda. I use a similar sized welding rod, grind the set out of a hacksaw blade to cut the C clip notch, do bends in vise. I reference the choke linkage hole, with choke in closed position, to carb base using caliper. If 3/8"...

    Crazy Custom EFI Idea

It makes more sense to modify a carb as TB, use single plane manifold for port injectors, with decent angle at intake valves.
  25. KitCarlson

    Crazy Custom EFI Idea

Adding injectors to a carb is a bad idea. TBI injectors are much larger than the LS injectors. TBI injection was a temporary step in progress, MPI is much better, fuel does not drop out as much. Also fuel proceeds the air, so when throttle is applied, the fuel enrichment responds much better...

    Crazy Custom EFI Idea

I use a solenoid idle air control valve from a Neon. It is much simpler than a stepper motor. It takes only one transistor to drive a single wire. PWM is used, where just setting a duty cycle in a register controls idle air. I make a plate to add two hose hose ports, one hooks to...

Being a teenager makes a difference, you have determination, that is a good thing. Engine controllers is my hobby. I have done about a dozen cars. My website may give you ideas, I can also help get you on the right track with MAP sensor, port injection, and temperature sensing that I not...

    Electronic potting materials experts..........Holley EFI

Try 3M Safest Stripper. Years ago they made it in a black jug, looked like pudding, non toxic, no bad smell, it would remove bondo. They reformulated by now, not sure what new stuff does. If you want to fix it, do not use the mill, chip a component you let out the magic smoke inside. :) With...

    Fuel Injection Tuning

My thinking was the use of electronic advance features. Since you are not doing that, and no vacuum advance, best leave timing where it is. The problem is more certainly, too much air, at closed throttle. So as others have said. Things like IAC,throttle idle position, vacuum leak.
