    The supply wire is larger but the solenoid feed wire is #10, which is only about 3 feet long and has current draw a short time. I was looking for a chart that auto guys use for wire size.

    What is the rule for the wire size in cars? I know for non auto wire 12 gauge is 20 amps and 10 gauge is for 30 amps is the same true in your auto? I noted in my duster I have some 10 gauge wire for the starter solenoid which has 49 amp draw but only has a 10 gauge wire.
