    10 cold 30 hot. 10 cold 40 hot. The 10w40 has more viscosity when hot but same on cold start.

    I never do it with the heads on. Dial indicator to find TDC and set the degree wheel. Do it with only #1 piston in and it's easier to get small movements, less friction.

    Steve, I used the 60775 heads because I used a roller cam, I had the pistons cut a bit to get zero deck, and a .039" gasket. Calculated it to be 10.2 cr. My cranking pressure is 182#.

    Sport340... Is your speedo reading correct. the rear gear may have been changed or the trans but now it doesnt have the right speedo drive gear. kinda throws the calculations off.

    The service manual is speced for cast. The hypereutectic need more ring gap. The piston maker should tell you what gap they want. Go by that.

    I use KB 243 flat Hyper and had them cut down to zero deck to work with the closed chambers and .039" gasket.

    Hahaha .read funny car as "Big". 292 is pretty big for cruisin @ 2000 rpm. The engine has been run hard. I did see H beam rods went the pan was off. It has a Weiand single plane 850 dp and stock iron manifolds. Total mismatch for a cruiser .IMO
