Another reason to buy Dougs is they dont have that goofy looking #1 pipe over the top of the rest on the left bank. Sucks. And they dont capture the steering linkage. :thumbsup:

My 67 fastback was so loud with exhaust resonance that we couldn't talk while at cruise speed windows down or up. Tried two difference muffs and added resonators. Didn't help. Finally put the Helmholtz resonators on and the drone was gone, I could hear the wife no problem. Damn! :lol:

The drone (resonant frequency) is gone at all rpm but when I stand on it the exhaust tone is all there. No restriction either.

Yes the short pipe thats capped is adjustable about 6 inches for frequency. I found that it didnt make a lot of difference in tone on my application but if I remove it the drone returns full force.

yep the engine is sitting as low as I can get it. Close to spec. Its as if the edelbrock alum heads are a little wider at the exhaust sealing face or a diff angle. The engine doesnt care about the dings in its pipes. 1.03 T bars also but I dont think thats the issue. Theres still only about 1/16...

I use these Race Pro's from Pypes.. quiet at idle... bark when you want them too.

You'll probably have to ding them somewhere else to make them fit anyway. I touched up the blemishes with ceramic header high heat touch up paint.

put mine on with the engine in,, BUT the steering column was out as well as the T bars, steering linkage was dropped and the 90* filter adapter was off. other than that, can o' corn. lol. oh ya got to jack er up high.

I bought Dougs for my 340 with a 5 speed, but before I separated the engine and the 727 I tried the headers to see why they wont fit with a 727. I didn't see any issues. I had to ding them a bit around the t bars
