    Doug's headers fittment

Are you talking about the Doug's? Mine were stainless. I thought they all were.

    Doug's headers fittment

Low is low. My point is to dispel any notion that you're going to get any more clearance with the Doug"s. While you may flatten out that tube it's been proven that you're not going to suffer any noticeable loss. However, whatever you're going to clip with the flange on a Flowtech, you're going...

    Doug's headers fittment

I bought mine bare and had them coated for $150 here. I can't imagine it being a whole lot different where you are.

    Doug's headers fittment

That's about it but a 340. As far as the starter goes I was reading that the starter and the headers needed to be put in at the same time. This isn't true, there's plenty of room to put the starter in afterwards.

    Doug's headers fittment

I just put them on my Cuda. There was a couple of times that I had to stop and rethink what I was doing but they fit with no dinging or adjusting. I also got them with no scratches to either the headers or the car. As far as the height goes I would say it's a little better but nothing...

Are headers worth it for me?

Headers are cool even if they don't help much. If you want my opinion, I'd go have them coated. (unless they're already coated) It'll cost about a hundred fifty but you'll be glad you did. Wrapping just isn't worth it. It's about fifty bucks or better for the wrap and several hours of your time...

Lots of threads on Headers, but how about one more quick one!

I was(or used to be) under the impression that equal tube lengths were thought to be part of the criteria for header design and the fender well header made this a little more feasible.

Lots of threads on Headers, but how about one more quick one!

At the risk of saying anything dumb, I suppose if there were any benefits over the alternative, they'd be the preferred option and they'd be all over the place. There's got to be a reason that you rarely see them

    318 Cuda Headers

They're always offering 20% off orders over $100 bucks shipped to your house. It took me three tries. The first two stated that the item was unavailable and the third time it went through.

    318 Cuda Headers

I have about $520 bucks into some ceramic coated Doug's, and that can be had all day long(almost)

    318 Cuda Headers

Dougs or TTI is the general consensus. In all reality my Flowtechs fit quite well. I don't know if I got any performance gains and they were a ***** to install. So I went with Dougs but I have yet to install them.

I guess that works just as good.

Me too. Checked back a week later and everything was fine. They showed up today as a matter of fact.

    73 Dart Sport 340 Headers

Just checked and my order was cancelled. Apparently they no longer carry this item, it is unavailable, or discontinued. I'm swinging by Autozone on my way to work today to find out WTF.

    73 Dart Sport 340 Headers

I should have said something about coating too. I'll probably be sorry I didn't go that route. Especially at a hundred fifty bucks less than Summit.

    73 Dart Sport 340 Headers

I just bought a set of Doug's D453-R headers. Those along with TTI seem to be the preferred headers among our ranks. However, I don't know if they work with a four speed so someone else will have to chime in. The reviews say they do, but modification to the Z-Bar is a must. Whatever that means...

    Stainless Block Hugger Exhaust Manifolds/Headers

I put a lot of thought into getting these and came up with a good solid "No'. I kept having visions of coming straight down into the K-Frame and having no less than three quick nineties to negotiate back and around the starter. I quickly lost interest.

Please tell me the best fit small block headers.

Are you racing? On the street and depending on the size of the engine the impact on anything under 4500 RPM give or take is virtually zilch.

Can we weld on aluminized or stainless tubing?

We weld stainless pipes all the time. In the food service industry. I honestly don't know if there's a difference in the grade of stainless used for muffler pipes or not but our plumbing spends years in a wet environment with no hint of rust. We tig with a stainless filler rod and polish with a...

HP manifolds with NO gaskets (?)

Sure! But why? Gaskets last a long long time. If by chance they do fail, they're about fifteen bucks and an hour of your time.

Been meaning to check on that. Right now I have exhaust so it's down on the list. Behind a few other things.

    Shimming Engine for Header Clearance

How old are the mounts/insulators? They flatten out over time. Maybe replacing with some new mounts/insulators will help.

    Shimming Engine for Header Clearance

If your mount is at a 45 degree angle(just a rough guess) a 3/8 shim under the drivers side mount will move the engine 3/16 to the right and 3/16 up.

Best Headers for 318 in a 72 Dart?

Worth it to put headers on a 318?

Worth it? As far as performance, probably not. You're committed to 600 CFM on the intake end. That means that you need to blow 300 CFM out of each manifold. I really don't know the flow rate of a 318 manifold but you'd think it has to be above 300. If not a set of 360 manifolds should certainly...

As a direct answer to your question. Yes, I did it and they do fit. Without a hammer too. Now!! Ask me if I'd do it again.
