72 Front Clip on a 75 Dart and hood?

The 1975 Dart Sport had a unique tailpanel that included a 3 piece bezel that extended from end-to-end encompassing the taillights. I swapped around '74 thru '76 parts on my existing Dart Sport which started as a '74 Duster. Also had a project converting a '71 Duster to a '75 Dart Sport before I...

    74 Dart 360 Sport

July 1974 build date! * I wonder if it's one of the LAST '74 360's built and one of the last with a hood scoop. I'm guessing the scoop is original even though it doesn't have the two approx. 4" holes in the hood at the outer edges of the underhood bracing "diamond". Someone once said that some...

    Dart Lite Resto (sorta, kinda..)

It may be 4 if you count the one on the car. I started collecting stuff over 20 years ago when I built my car for IHRA Stock/Crate Motor. (IHRA dropped class racing & went bracket only after the 2017 season.) Hood saves about 12-15 lbs off the front. Also have a Lite/Feather trunk on the car...

Dart Lite was 1976 only option package along with Feather Duster.

    Pro-stock duster resurrection

The 340 test car was a yellow Dart Sport and the rest were Hemi's. Don Carlton's own car was a Demon. He also ran a Dart Sport in B/G and match races. This is an interesting car but I doubt it was an actual P/S. Would make a cool clone/tribute if done right.

    72 Bumpers on a 73 Duster

If you happen to run across any, some '74 Duster bumpers can also have standard bracket bumpers as well as some Valiants/Scamps. The front bumpers you DO NOT want are the ones with the extra bumper bolts on either side and just above the license plate area. Forgot to look at the car pic you...

    72 Bumpers on a 73 Duster

To elaborate a bit on what Professor Fate said.....Front bumpers are a different style as shown in the pics. Rear bumpers will interchange. 1973 had standard bumper brackets front and rear. 1974 started with the "shock absorber" style brackets in the rear and I believe the front started late in...

    73 Dart Sport for Fun

Only '73 & '74 Sports have the regular bumper brackets up front. They went to front AND rear shock absorber "5 mph" brackets in '75. (Rears started in '74.) As for the '73-'74 front reinforcement, if it was a race car, I'd say get rid of it for the weight. Otherwise keep it. It will help hold...

That's why Stock Eliminator appeals to me - Stock appearing, often show quality, 9" tires and the engines are rule-restricted more than any other class, but still fast. It would be cool if someone could photoshop that! I'm to computer illiterate to do it. Otherwise I would have done one with "LOCOMOTION" and some combination of white & fluorescent blue over the black with my Dart Sport.

I remember an article I have somewhere that states the car weighed as little as 1,880 lbs. I guess the race engine/trans would have weighed less than a more conventional small block/auto trans. combination.

I've heard of people somehow compressing the shock brackets or replacing the bumper assembly with a regular bumper & brackets, which would require drilling mounting holes. jos51700 asked for photos of the aluminum bumper reinforcement a while back. The regular steel version weighs a LOT more. '75 & '76 use the shock absorber style bumper brackets while '74 & older had "regular" brackets. I have a Dart Lite hood and trunk lid on my race car, but then added...

Needed - hood scoop template- 72 scamp

I don't have any "data", but theoretically, the single scoop with dual openings is one of the more efficient scoops, similar to the Challenger T/A scoop. The scoop opening is raised above the hood surface which gets it above the less active "boundry layer". Mopar never did design a "ram air"...
