I'm 3D Printing a set of Dash Panels with Gauges

I'm enjoying watching your progress. I haven't looked at 3d printing as yet, but really should! I made my custom dash board by modifying a factory fascia, then making silicone moulds and casting it out of fibreglass with vinyl ester resin for it's heat stability. It took 10 months to make and...

What safe protectant to use on dash pads....

303 protectant is a very good product, non silicone so won't vaporize and fog up your screen. Don't know about US aviation regs, but in Australia this is the only product of this type you can use! Best thing is it gives only semi gloss finish unlike the silicone types with their high gloss finish!

can/has it been done?? home made headliner...

j par, you did a great job on this. I'm a pro upholsterer in Australia and that's a good effort for a guy just having a go! The main thing I'd have done to improve it would have been to fibreglass over the joints from the backside of the liner. But it's holding up as is so that's the main thing...

Early A Trunk Quarter Panel "Abyss"

Some cars have bitumen panels that cover that area, they overlap and screws to the edge of the floor section. A steel panel done the same that finishes just short of the 1/4 panel would be better.

    Custom drink holder/cooler, heater

I started to mock up my console which lead to making my drink holder. It's illuminated and will have the A/C redirected to cool & heat. Ducting is yet to be made, but that's a simple duct with small fans to pull air into the holders. Part 1.....

    Early A body dash pad

Finally back at work, so I have now covered the dash top. The blue painted section will later be covered in the matching vinyl once the A/C and fuse box as well as all the electronic control units have been mounted. There's a massive amount of electronics so a lot of though has to go into...

    Custom dash fascia Aussie 66-67

I've found two different suppliers here in Australia. First guy offers a range of set logo's only a choice of blue or green ring illumination, and latching type switching only. Then I found a guy that sells the matching switches, choice of colour, choice of latching or momentary switching. And...

    Custom dash fascia Aussie 66-67

All the switches have arrived and installed. They look great and have a nice feel, worth the money! Final fit up of the custom fascia and new crash pad has been done, just a couple of little things to finish to be happy with it. Just waiting for lockdown to end to be able to get to work to cover it!

    Early A body dash pad

The 67 Aussie Dodge ute's didn't have a dash pad at all. So I made a custom one when I first bought and was planning on it being my daily. It's now become a total ground up custom build! After making a new fascia to fit Dakota digital gauges, I now made a full dash pad right up to the screen...

Further progress on the dash. Now the new fascia is made, I've repaired the frame and made the mods for the new Gauges and A/C control and vents. Next stage will be the demister system, currently I've had the vents cut from 3mm alloy in a water cutter.

    Custom dash fascia Aussie 66-67

It’s been a while since I updated, didn’t want to post until I had succeeded in my project. It is by far the most complicated thing I've ever undertaken! Worse than the bonnet I made a while ago! No references to anything like this to be found. Made it up as I went along. I didn't count the...

Sounds like you may have a 4-door liner Rod, if your old liner had 5 bows and this one has 6, there’s a problem & the bows may not line up with the car, do you have your old liner to compare with this one? I wouldn’t proceed until you can either measure the spacings on your old one or from...
