I would suggest filling any deep scratches or imperfections, and then spray it with this truck bed coating to get a reasonably good looking texture and finish, for the least amount of money. Just don't get it so wet that it runs! Take your time between light coats to obtain the desired texture...

I just finished mine. That particular assembly should be fairly stiff, The nylon roller doesn't actual roll on that particular assembly. It just rides in the track. Lube it good and make it great again!

I'm laying down a layer of GTMAT first, then a layer of thermal reflective insulation which also has some some deadner sandwiched in there. Then on the underside of the car, that is ready to get a couple of coats of the Lizard Skin Ceramic sound deadner/thermal insulator... Hoping for a nice...

Very nice! I am still thinking of doing my top more like yours and getting rid of the flip top section in favor of cup holders. That would be much more useful, for sure!

I did a similar mod with my Cheetah STS shifter. I even managed to leave room to install a pastry toaster where the old shifter slots were. Works awesome for Pop Tarts on-the-go!

I also bought the similar setup from Wesco for my '67 notch and am very happy with them. I bought the ones with the 8 inch down strap where it bolts into the roof.

They just push in and pry out but be careful because they are old and brittle. If you can get behind it and squeeze it together a little while you slide a pry tool under the front side that will help.

My car was originally a high trim model and also has the burl wood overlays in the door panels, so I am trying not to go too far away from original on some of the basic stuff, body-wise. Drive train is another story. :burnout:

I got my '67's dash close to finished up after welding up the holes for the dash pad. I like it. Just got new burl wood inserts for the bezel too but haven't fully installed them yet. 2nd pic is kinda crappy

got the holes welded up in my dash last night.

On my 67, it only had small holes for each bolt so it is easy to weld up with no concerns of altering it's crash integrity properties. I too have the original pad but it is cracked up bad.

I am welding the holes up on my '67 and going with all steel, satin black finish.
