I can back this statement up first-hand. My 340-based 416 with mildly hand-ported J-heads and about 10.25 compression made right around 520 HP/535TQ on the dyno with a 750 carb that wasn't tuned as good as it could have been. I'm running 3.73 gears and she's a blast to drive!

Hey thanks! Right now I am running 26 inch tires. They are 295/60/15 to be exact. They hook pretty good but I can still roast 'em easily on the street anyways... I plan to run an 8 inch rally rim from Wheel Vintiques at the track.

Thanks! That is what I was Looking for. I believe those 15 x 8 rims have 4 3/4 back spacing. I have a set of 5/16 spacers as well, if needed. Rusty RRob: thanks, I never would have thought of that!
