Are you sanding the body to bare metal? If so what grit are you using? Debating on having mine media blasted or sanding. It’s an original paint car, so should come off easily but I don’t want to sand out the body lines or leave too many deep scratches that may show down the road.

I am looking at doing something very similar on the door panels. I have a sheet of carbon fiber looking film. Did you put that over the wood grain? Any issues with adhering?

Factory paint sucks and is best left to the survivor cars. When your car is parked at a cruise night or a show it will be next to a car with nice paint not an orange peeled survivor. To the average person it will look like you went to Maaco.
